The detective with the special power of lie-detecting is back to solve yet another murder case!
The release date of the crime thriller, Poker Face Episode 8, is out. The show revolves around the character, Charlie Cale, who is a con artist. She gets involved in a murder case at a casino, for which she is always on a run. While on run, she takes up various jobs to earn a living, but she keeps facing homicide cases wherever she goes. Charlie Cale has the special power of detecting lies when told. With this ability, Charlie keeps solving murder cases which are a piece of cake for her.
The crime thriller, Poker Face is the brainchild of Rian Johnson starring Natasha Lyonne. Each episode focuses on different cases where Charlie comes to the rescue. This show also has spectacular guest actors, who are seen in different episodes in different roles. This factor has successfully attracted quite a number of viewers, who are loving Natasha’s acting as well as enjoy the appearance of well-known actors as guests in the series.

Poker Face Episode 7 Recap
Poker Face Episode 7, titled “The Future of the Sport,” opens at a racetrack, Peach Tree Speedway. The race cars are seen to be gearing up for a race. The race will determine the year’s ‘Late Model Champion.’ Then we are introduced to Keith Owens (Tim Blake Nelson) and his opponent, Davis McDowell (Charles Melton).
Keith Owens is an old man who is about to retire from the tracks as we can see his hands shaking while holding the steering of his car, whereas McDowell is a newcomer which an outstanding success rate.
A nail-biting race begins, but towards the end, McDowell knocks Keith’s car into the sidelines, and he wins the race. Later in the interview, Keith announces that he will not be retiring any time soon as he is determined to avenge his failure. When Keith calls Davis an idiot in the interview, Davis starts an argument with him. Keith’s wife, Donna drags him out of the argument and drives him home, along with their daughter, Katy.
On reaching the house, Katy argues with her father and leaves. Meanwhile, Keith tells Donna about his hands were shaking during the race.
After some time, we see Davis coming in front of Keith’s house on a truck while doing a life and subsequently, trashes his garden and take his letterbox away with him. Donna is seen to be furious and asks Keith to handle the situation.
Next, we see Keith heading to a forest area, from where he calls and asks for a truck. Shortly we see Davis’s truck leaving. Taking his chance, Keith sneaks in and tampers with Davis’s car by leaving a fishing hook inside the engine.
The next day, when Keith and Davis are seen racing, Davis loses control of his car and hits a wall. The car catches fire. On the other side, we see Keith watching the incident with a smile on his face.
Then, a flashback is shown. we see Charlie, who is now a worker at an arcade with go-kart racing and other games, Kamelot Karts. There, she sees Davis’s mother, Jean, listening to Davis’s winning commentary. Soon, Davis comes in there and starts a friendly conversation with Charlie. Later, he tries to kiss her, only to get rejected by her. At that moment, Katy, Keith’s daughter arrives there and challenges Davis to a go-kart race. Katy beats him in the race. Later, Davis is seen putting trash in Owen’s Garden.
Further, when Keith goes to tamper with Davis’s car, without him knowing, Davis sees Keith in action. After Keith leaves, Davis goes near his car and further tampers with his seatbelt. He does not take out the fishing hook.
On the day of the race, Davis persuades Katy to take the wheel under the pretense of beating his record from the day before. Katy accepts it. Therefore, then, the driver who crashes the car is Katy. When Keith gets to know about it, the smile on his face vanishes.
At the arcade, while Jean, Charlie, and Randy are watching the news about Katy, being in a coma, Davis comes blames her incompetence for the crash. Hearing this, Charlie immediately detects it as a lie. Davis then goes to the garage to check on the car, along with Randy and Charlie. Davis pretends to find a fish hook for the first time and blames Keith for attempting to kill him. When Davis suggests going to Keith’s place, Charlie interrupts him and tells him that she will go there and figure out whether Keith is the one behind the mishap.
When Charlie reaches Keith’s house and asks him whether he has anything to do with Davis’s car, he bluntly denies it. Just then Charlie detects his lie.
Next, we see Charlie returning to the arcade to inform Davis and Randy about the situation. At that moment, on TV, Keith confesses about his doings with the car and says that he did not intend any harm. Charlie rejoices about how things turned out. Thereafter, a kid comes and tells Davis that he does not want to race and reveals that there was some problem with Katy’s seatbelt. When Davis denies it, Charlie again detects a lie.
Later, Charlie goes to Davis’s garage. While looking around, she finds Davis’s grandfather’s picture, Big Ed, there. She gets reminded of how Davis always kept Big Ed’s picture in his car but it was not there when Katy’s car crashed. At that very moment, Davis comes in and catches Charlie. Charlie asks him directly about the seatbelt and narrates how things might have worked. On being called a psychopath by Charlie, Davis attempts to hit Charlie with a rod when Jean comes in, pausing Davis’s action.
The next day, Davis is announced as the ambassador of Lucas Oil and he dedicates the race to Katy. When Davis is seen getting ready for a race, Charlie comes and tells him that she will be leaving her job. Further, she informs him that Katy is out of her coma and when she makes a come-back next year, Davis’s time will come to an end as she is a much better driver than Davis.
The episode ends with Charlie warning Davis to be ready for the future, to which Davis gets nervous.
