Well, we’re on our way to The Bachelor Season 27 Episode 5, where this week the gang’s crossing the pond to Jolly Old England. But with this The Bachelor Season 27 Week 5 preview, we’ll soon find out that for Zach, his time in London is going to be anything but jolly, as something looks to be bringing production to a screeching halt. So let’s break this The Bachelor Week 5 preview to see what goes down.
There are a lot of things that will happen in week 5 and we need to talk about all of them. First, it is looking like Zach will have COVID this week and that he would be Quarantined for this week. He will be present in the episode but only through a computer screen. But how is this all going to play out?
What Will Happen In The Bachelor Season 27 Episode 5?
OK, so right off the bat, this preview sets us up with some footage of what seems to be a group date, but you might notice, no Zach. There’s a lot of tricky editing going on all through this preview, and it has to do with a major event that seems to happen later on. But for now, I’m mainly pausing at the start of the Preview to take note of the girls’ outfits.
Like right here we get the classic shot of the contestants arriving in a new location and girls screaming out its name. Notice Brooklyn’s White outfit, Aly’s Gray one, and Mercedes in red. Then in a further shot, we see that Brooklyn, Aly, and Mercedes have changed.
Now you might be saying, “well, who cares, this is just a group date”. But I promise this is going to help us figure out how next week is going to play out, especially once the big event that causes this week too, as Zach later puts it, be robbed is revealed. Then we get to see the beginning of a group date as well as the first one-on-one of the week with Gabi and some corgis. Corgis of course being the late Queen’s favorite dog.
But I wanna point out here in this shot with Zach greeting the women, I think this could possibly be a fake out. Check out Zach’s Brown sweater under his coat. It’s actually a match with what he’s wearing on his one-on-one with Gabi. So the question becomes, why throw in a fake out for Zach greeting the women in the group he has already going on anyways? Well, for now, let’s keep going because it’ll all become clear once we get to the end.
Something Is Wrong In The Bachelor Season 27 Week 5
Zach says in the Preview “Nothing’s gonna stop us from having such an amazing week”. And then this is followed by the hist saying, “Unfortunately we got some really bad news”. So at the beginning of this section, they throw in a shot of Zach and Katherine, making it look like maybe she gets another one-on-one or something, but again, it’s a fake out. Zach’s outfit here with the bow tie is the same as seen during the night portion of his date with Gabi. So yeah, tons of odd fake-outs in this preview.
And I even think that this shot of Zack saying “nothing’s going to stop us from having such an amazing week where actually we only see him mouthing the words “Such an amazing week”, is in fact not actually from this week. It’s only speculation at this point, but I’m inclined to believe that this is from a future destination like Estonia or Hungary.
I mean, check out his hair here and then back in this shot where they that he is greeting the girls in London. Kind of looks like Zach got a haircut. Now, of course, there’s a reason why I’m thinking all of this, and it has to do with the bad news that Jesse has. We get a little more context on it ahead.
So the women are upset and Zach says this week was robbed. Now what many people are speculating online is that Zach gets COVID. That could explain why this shot looks like he’s on a zoom call and is probably wearing pajama bottoms with his suit. I also think it’s a good explanation for this shot with Greer freaking out.
We saw last week, Greer immediately jumped to tears when she didn’t get the one-on-one for the week. So finding out that there’s going to be another week without getting time with Zach could be a good explanation for what’s happening right here. As for some of these other shots, mainly here with Kathrine, it looks like this might actually be from a rose ceremony. Which might imply that the week ends as normal.
But let’s first finish off this preview before we go over what the heck might be happening. And if things do end in an ose3 ceremony, who might be going home?
Does Zach Have COVID In The Bachelor Season 27?
The preview ends with Zack wondering what they’re going to do. So does Zach get COVID? Well, a lot does seem to point to that, and it would explain the number of weird fake-outs in this preview. Now we know for sure that the first one-on-one date of the week happens. Zach and Gabi head out on their date, they have the night portion, and then she gets a rose. Then next we do see some group date footage, but no Zach. They did of course throw in that shot of him right here, but as we talked about before, this is actually him meeting Gabi.
And in this pub shot, no Zach as well. So perhaps they send the ladies out on a group date without Zach because they still have an episode that contractually needs to air. This is also why it’s important to know that their outfits at the Pub differentiate from the ones they were wearing when they arrived in London. And a potential group date without the lead adds more to the speculation that Zach is in quarantine.
Also, there’s no Gabi in any of the footage other than the one-on-one, which, yeah, could be just because she got the one-on-one, and why would she need to be seen anywhere else? But I would also bet that if Zach has COVID, she too will be going into quarantine.
The Bachelor Season 27 Episode 5 Release Date
The Bachelor Season 27 Episode 5 will release on 20 February 2023 on ABC. Now, how things go from here is just diving further and further into speculation territory. Do they have a Rose ceremony? Do they cancel the Bachelor Season 27 week 5? Do they bring out a little robot on a scooter so Zach can watch the group date from his hotel room? I don’t know, but if the last one doesn’t happen, I’m going to be severely disappointed.
However, with the shot of girls crying, it kind of looks like we do have a Rose ceremony at some point. I guess the show must go on because I’m not sure they can just reschedule this week as by this point, they’d have already booked everything for Estonia and Hungary and fantasy suites in Thailand, including flights and accommodation for the cast and crew.
So rescheduling what’s likely a month and a half still filming would be a major headache and budgeting issue, or just flat out might not be possible. So the likely answer is to just move forward, do what you can,, and then have a Rose ceremony, which means I’m eyeing Kylie and Mercedes as eliminations.
We know that of the eleven women left, Katie, Gabi, Charity, Brooklyn, Ariel, and Greer are all confirmed to make it past London based on the season preview. As for Kylie, well, she’s already on the brink of being in the drama last week, and we know how little patience Zach has for that. While Mercedes has had like no screen time. Leaving Aly, Katrine, and Jess for filling in that third elimination spot. Now, I highly doubt that Katrine is gone after the one-on-one she just had as well as one moment with her that’s still to come.
This leaves Aly or Jess to fill the third elimination spot. But with Jess still having this moment from the previous to come, I think that she’ll be staying, unless of course she comes out of quarantine for the Rose ceremony and they’re able to have this conversation at the cocktail party. But that is huge if that I doubt will be happening next week. So Aly, just two weeks after her skydiving one-on-one could be the final elimination for next week. And I just hope she doesn’t get sent home via zoom.
