9 Childs Street is a 3D game played in first person. It follows the story of a 9-year-old boy, played by the player themselves, roaming a recently abandoned horrifying house, with the inhabitants of the house still inside and captured.
The show is played in first person and does not require multiplayer; it does not even have the option of playing with multiple players, which, honestly, adds to its horror nature. The character of the boy, played by the player, sees the dark abandoned house with all the innocent curiosity in the world.
9 Childs Street Game Ending Explained
9 Childs Street is a simulation game that ensures you feel like a part of the little boy’s world in all senses. The game has to be seriously appreciated for its violent but realistic visuals that make playing this game such an experience.
This game is based around an abandoned mansion-like place, which used to be the home of an older man. The older man does not seem to be living in the house, as the light never turns on. The player, the nine-year-old child in a red cap, is a curious boy named Armin.
Armin’s curious nature is such that it makes him want to figure out why the lights in that house do not turn on and to find out what happened to the older man. While contemplating his thoughts and looking at the house, Armin sees a light turn on in that potentially abandoned place.
This is enough for his curiosity to take over and, thus, becomes the push he needs to grab his flashlight and march toward the house. His goal is only to investigate the source of light and maybe find out what happened to older people in the house, but he is not aware that something more evil is waiting for him in one of the corners of the mansion.
The game also makes sure you feel very much present in the mansion and taps into the player’s fears and anticipation. Upon reaching inside the house, the boy or the player feels like something lurks in the home’s nooks and crannies. Of there it is, in all its terrifying horror, the house owner in the dark, completely still and almost not alive.
But on getting a closer look, the older man’s eyes have something about them that should look dead but instead feel so very alive. The game is about the curious Armin figuring out the secrets of the house, and the passage of the game brings the player face to face with scary paranormal activities within the house.
The Start of Something Scary
While excited gamers would love to just get into the game and see to its end, it has to be mentioned that there are mentions and visuals of suicide and violent murders that may be triggering for some. The game begins with Armin trapped inside the house, trying to get out with the help of a rope.
Very soon, he realizes that the house has all the doors locked and is haunted by the kids that the owner kidnapped and turned into dolls. But the owner died before he could complete the dolls, so now the haunted souls of the dead kids are after Armin, trying to get his heart to complete the owner’s task.
Armin gets on a mission to protect himself from all the dolls that seem to be after him, but no matter what room he enters, he encounters dolls trying to get him killed. He eventually learns that the house has hidden keys and that he can get out and be safe if he finds them all.
Finding the keys while also trying not to get killed by the dolls and also not being scared of all the supernatural around him is a difficult task. The game ends with Armin locating all the keys and opening the main door to his freedom.
During the game, he wanted to help the dolls or the dead kids and save them, but that could not be done once he was out of the house. Even with him out of the haunted house, the dead kids’ dolls and souls remained trapped inside the house.
The End
The game ends with a time skip to a few months later and Armin still thinking about to being able to help the dolls inside and how it was driving him crazy. But that is the thing, 9 Childs Street is a horror game of survival, not of the boy trying to indulge in good social acts.
The players win when the boy leaves the house, and the game ends. Overall, it is a scary game with a pretty indulging storyline. The developers have to be given credit for being able to come out with such great visuals, perfectly timed jump scares, and the ability to make little kids look scary.
The game’s story is inspired by the life of a Russian dollmaker who did not kidnap children to make dolls but used human skin to make his dolls which later expanded to mummifying the bodies, especially of girls.
The game does not reveal much about the dead dollmaker except what we get from the letters addressed to a man named Jack. He claims to have been a lonely child and got into dollmaking because he thought they could keep him company.
The game is praised for feeling too realistic and creepy at times. Gamers worldwide, who have tried this game, mostly come up with nothing but positive critics for the developers of 9 Childs Street.
