There are many anime-based games out right now for PC, but which one should you try out. The thing is, a lot of anime games haven’t quite reached the level of quality it’s anime had. That’s expected as the life of anime is from its story, when it transitions into video games, the important changes to mostly gameplay.
Also, when we play anime video games, we go in already knowing the story. All that is left for the company to do is make the gameplay, the graphics, everything so good that we wouldn’t mind reliving the whole thing.
Many anime games aren’t made by huge companies or experienced developers, which makes them lackluster. But that isn’t the case for every game; here is a list of some amazing anime games that you can play right now on your PC.
Attack On Titan 2
This game I based on one of the biggest recent anime. This show will go down in history as one of the greatest; we are the lucky ones because we get to live through the golden age of Attack On Titan.
This is actually the second game based on the anime; we aren’t going to talk about the first one as it didn’t quite hit the mark. The second one did leaps and bounds better from the previous ones, it did not reinvent the wheel in any way, but it did make some significant changes that completely changed the game’s feel.
Before we jump into the game, let’s learn a little about the anime it’s based on. Attack On Titan has a very emotional and addictive storyline. It’s got a high political aspect to it, which we may not grasp that easily; it teaches us about the consequences of war, citizens’ mindset, the lives of the soldiers, and more.
In the show, humanity is on the brink of extinction; what’s left of them has retreated into a small city surrounded by 3 walls. Each wall has a city inside, with the most important building in the center.
So the reason for humanity’s unfortunate fate are titans, mindless huge humanoid creatures that have a taste for humans. So by building huge walls, the citizens keep out the titans from ever entering their lands. The soldiers are divided into different factions, with scouts being the ones who venture outside the walls to bring back resources, learn about new things, etc.
But the situation outside is so bad that every single time the scouts come back, almost everyone is injured, and many lives will be lost. But for years, people inside never had a problem with the titans. That changes when one-day huge titans show up and destroy the first wall, completely opening up space for all other titans.
Following this event, many stuff unfolds, laying the foundation for 3 kids who become scouts to rewrite history.
So now that the story is over, let’s take a look at the game itself. Attack On Titan 2 is a hack and slash video game. So the gameplay is amazing; we get to hack and slash up all titans to our liking in a variety of different places. We get to zoom around with our trusty equipment; the characters’ movement is all well done.
In the game, we get to create our own custom character. With the character we get to meet and interact with almost all of the other characters from the anime, that is an experience and is one of the best parts of the game.
The story follows the first 2 seasons of the anime, but it actually features an original ending. Another new feature is that the entire story can be played in co-op, which makes it even more exciting.
The game is available on all major platforms right now. Get it on Steam for PC.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
Wanted to fly around the world of Dragon Ball as one of them? This game makes that dream a reality. Developed by Dimps company, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a role-playing action game. It acts as the sequel to the previous Dragon Ball Xenoverse.
The game is somewhat of an open world. The main map of Conton City is huge, and you can roam around the whole thing interacting with some very familiar faces. There are also some very famous and iconic locations from the anime where you can visit whenever you want to; going to each place has its own benefits, just like what you would expect in an RPG.
At the start, you get to create a custom character for yourself. They can be selected to be a part of five races from the anime, the 5 being Saiyans, Humans, Majins, Frieza’s race, and Namekians. Each of these races has its own unique abilities.
The game gives you a lot of freedom to explore and complete freedom when it comes to battles. The moment you unlock flying, it’s so much more fun; the game itself transforms.
The battles are the best part of the game. You get to face off with almost every single character from the Dragon Ball franchise. Almost all of the attacks and more are available in the game. From the famous Kamehameha to the Spirit Bomb, anything can be done to your wish. Attacks can be purchased or unlocked; the game being an RPG requires a lot of grinding.
The melee and dodging elements of the game are so fun. The dodging is on another level; the moment you dodge an attack, teleport behind him, and knocking him miles away gives you an insane sense of accomplishment.
The game features an original storyline that kind of picks after the events of the previous game. It’s a great story that doesn’t give repetitive; it actually fuels the desire to complete the game to 100%. The graphics are also very well done; from every punch to every jump, it really looks great.
The game is available on all major platforms right now. It’s a must-play for all Dragon Ball fans.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninjastorm 3
Now that we had a Dragon Ball game, we need to have a Naruto game as well; the good thing is Naruto has an amazing game. Ultimate Ninja storm 3, the fourth installment in the franchise, is without a doubt the best one yet.
We get a great, well-designed open world, a ton of playable characters, and the story is very well done. Even though it’s the same story, it feels completely different as we play through it, the gameplay is solid, and the graphics are wonderful.
The game has an amazing 80 playable characters and over 10 supporting characters. You get to go into some of the best anime game battles in the game; you go in there with two other supporting characters. These characters help in unleashing some of the best-animated combos.
The item system has changed a bit with having a healing or offensive item to take along with you. But by progressing through, you get to store more and more items. A new Awakening mode is also revealed, where certain characters’ powers and abilities are enhanced greatly when they are in low health.
The game also brings back some amazing boss fights. The story mainly follows the battle between the ninjas and the Akatsuki leading to some amazing and iconic battles. As we said, the story is done beautifully so as not to give us any repetitive feeling.
Get it on Steam for PC.

Finally, we have not just one of the best Dragon Ball games, not just one of the best anime games but one of the best fighting games ever! This game became so popular that it is one of the games being played at E-Sports.
This is a simulating 2-D, 3-D fighting game. The game was noted as one of the best fighting games of recent times because of its amazing gameplay. The story, the visuals, the number of characters, and their details, the attack animations, everything was done perfectly.
So the game would have us pick 3 characters from the Dragon Ball world to go up against another team of 3. The game is won by eliminating all other players on the opponent’s team. If the match ends in a draw because of time out, then the team that has sustained the least amount of damage will be the winner.
