Kento Nanami is one of the most serious and attractive personalities in Jujutsu Kaisen, and his fighting technique is incredible. Nanami went to work as a salaryman after graduating from Jujutsu High, but he came back four years later to restart her career as a jujutsu sorcerer. Nanami was a grade 1 Jujutsu High sorcerer who mostly worked on the Tokyo campus. Satoru became a close mentor to Yuji Itadori after being introduced by him. Nanami is an extremely irritable person who expresses his annoyance both visually and audibly.
Nanami is a tall, muscular man with a neat part in his blonde hair. Nanami has tiny eyes and thin brows, which he hides behind his signature sunglasses. Nanami is a wise and reserved man who comes across as stoic and aloof because of his calm and indifferent demeanor. Nanami understands the difference between service and sentimentalism. He looks to be someone who takes his profession far too seriously. In most conversations, he is direct and to the point, and he does not tolerate unrealistic optimism or open-ended questions.

1. Unique Ability
Nanami’s martial prowess is initially seen in a skirmish that follows his and Yuji’s initial visit to the movie theatre where the murder they’re entrusted with investigating occurred. Nanami finds obvious remnants of the assailant’s Cursed Energy there. They pursue it onto the roof of the movie theatre, where they encounter two Curses. Nanami and Yuji resolve to take on one Curse apiece. Nanami, being the more experienced combatant, eliminates his Curse first. He does it by employing a skill he refers to as the Ratio Technique. Nanami can visualize pieces of his opponent’s body is separated into ten equal halves.
2. Nanami is a huge fan of bread
Nanami used to frequently go to the bakery to get his favorite bread and got to know the young woman behind the counter. He spots a minor curse on her shoulders and decides it’s not worth endangering his life by exposing himself. Nanami was dissatisfied with his coworkers’ preoccupation with money above all else at work. Nanami’s only concern four years after graduating from Jujutsu High was money. When he returned to the bakery, he realized that the girl, like him, had problems sleeping owing to the weight on her shoulders. Nanami was never one to be concerned about his status in the world, but he did believe that his line of work did not benefit anyone.
3. Little regard for a Jujutsu Sorcerer’s rank
Nanami recognizes that being a jujutsu sorcerer is a risky and stressful career for insane people, thus he has trouble appreciating those who practice it. Despite their mutual faith in one another, Nanami believes he doesn’t appreciate Satoru. He went from being a salaryman to being a sorcerer because he never felt properly appreciated and didn’t feel his employment had any real influence. As a sorcerer, on the other hand, he was able to accumulate modest tokens of gratitude from unwitting individuals. This was sufficient for Nanami to enjoy a life free of regrets.
While he was a student at Jujutsu High, Nanami had a similar but naturally less mature mentality. Missions were a hardship to him, but his pessimism was constantly countered by his classmate Yu Haibara’s unwavering optimism. Nanami’s choice to abandon his life as a jujutsu sorcerer was influenced by Haibara’s death. One of the reasons he thinks jujutsu sorcerers are rubbish is that they have to convince their teammates that they must gladly commit themselves. He admits that this caused him to “run away” from the profession rather than “leave.”

Nanami is a knowledgeable and quiet man who comes across as stoic and aloof due to his calm and disinterested demeanor. Nanami appears to be the type of guy who takes his profession too seriously, but he just understands how to distinguish sentimentalism from service. In most interactions, he’s straightforward and to-the-point, and he doesn’t like unrealistic optimism or open-ended queries. Nanami is also quite irritable and quick to express it, both with his expression and with his words. Nanami is frequently irritable. He despises working extra and is adamant about avoiding exceeding his quota by even a minute.
5. Nanami has had a significant influence on Itadori’s development
Nanami is the ideal grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer. Nanami is simply a typical man burdened down by the routine day-to-day activities of life that took didn’t let him enjoy his youth. Nanami doesn’t believe age or life-threatening event drives one into maturity. Instead, he believes that people become adults as a result of the accumulation of all of life’s minor inconveniences.
7. His Intelligence
Outside of his cursed technique, Nanami’s most valuable attributes in battle are his keen fighting instincts and deductive reasoning abilities. Nanami knew he was outmatched in terms of raw cursed energy both times he battled Mahito, yet he managed to survive both encounters and overwhelm Mahito on many occasions owing to fast thought and flawless execution. When Nanami was assigned Mahito’s case, he was able to employ his team to track down the essential clues, eventually leading them to Mahito. He could also see that Mahito was luring them to his refuge on purpose, so he decided to go all by himself to protect the others.
