This ITV show with the highest ratings has been crawling closer to its premiere, with much more entertaining and disgusting challenges all lined up for this season’s celebrities. The Crew and Hosts Ant & Dec are back in Australia, the land of all kinds of animals and insects on steroids, not to mention the hot and humid climate of the jungles.
I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here a.k.a I’m A Celeb, was first seen on television on 25th August 2022. The series started with 8 contestants and lasted for a total of 15 days. Two decades later, the show has had many alterations in the format, and the number of contestants has changed as well. The show has always been filmed in Australia, but for the last two seasons, it had to be filmed in North Wales due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The 22nd season of the series will be premiering this month, and the contestant list has just been confirmed. With a total of 10 celebrities, consisting of singers, actors as well as a football player, the show takes us into the gruesome yet entertaining world of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
I’m A Celebrity 2022: The Way the Competition goes
The show’s format is pretty simple, but that doesn’t mean the challenges are easy. Most of the players of each challenge are selected through votes by viewers. They can nominate any one contestant for the “Bushtucker Trials,” which involves physical (as well as mental) challenges involving spiders, ants, cockroaches, worms, and much more.
The challenges can get as disgusting as swallowing a crocodile and kangaroo genital juice, eyeballs, and well as eating the tongues of various animals. If the contestants can complete the Bushtucker Trials, they will be awarded food and other requirements.
Another challenge is the “Dingo Dollar Challenge,” which involves searching for a container with Dingo dollars, which, if taken to a small shop set up by the producers, can get the contestants rewards. It’s not sure if the shopkeeper from the previous seasons, Kiosk Kev, will be returning for this season.
The contestants of this season are Babatunde Aléshé, Sue Cleaver, and Owen Warner, all of whom are famous actors, while Babatunde is also a comedian. Boy George, the singer, will also be one of the contestants.
This season includes TV presenters as contestants, such as Charlene White, Chris Moyles, and Scarlette Douglas. Moreover, Sports players Jill Scott and Mike Tindall, along with politician Matt Hancock and TV personality Olivia Attwood will be a part of the show as well.
