Since we’ll be talking about Vaalvi’s ending, this is your spoiler alert.
Vaalvi: What Happens In The Film?
The movie starts with Aniket visiting Devika, a dentist, at her clinic. We soon find out that Aniket is in a relationship with Devika, but as he’s already married to Avani, the pair decide to come up with a devilish murder plan. Instead of murdering her himself, Aniket and Devika decide to frame Avani’s death as suicide and go as far as practicing the whole scenario many times. Their plan seems to be foolproof, as Avani is under a lot of stress and is mentally unstable after not having any children despite years of marriage.
Aniket decides to tell her that he has gone bankrupt and their house is soon going to be taken away from them. He places the choice of either divorcing him or killing herself with him. Since she wasn’t ready to divorce Aniket, Avani decided to go ahead with the suicide plan.
Aniket arrives home a day before the commencement of the plan and finds Avani researching Termites and the way they’ve started eating plastic along with wood. The next day, instead of going along with their original plan, Aniket decides to shoot Avani himself when he finds her sleeping in the bedroom.
When he returns home later, he sees that Avani’s body is nowhere to be found. He calls Devika over, and they start searching around the house, only to find a positive pregnancy test. As they argue about the test, Aniket gets a call saying that his wicked actions were not a secret and he should come to a certain location as soon as he can.
The caller turns out to be Anshuman, Avani’s psychiatrist, who was involved in an intimate relationship with her. When Avani found out that she was pregnant, she tried to force Anshuman to marry her, and this scared him enough to give her an overdose of medicine.
The group decides to dispose of Avani’s body somewhere secluded, such as the side of a highway, but as they go out, they see that Police are everywhere due to it being New Year’s Eve. An accident takes place in the middle of the road, and a lady asks Aniket for help. She soon finds out that Avani is dead and not sick and starts shouting. Aniket hits her in the head with a bottle and kills her. Soon, the group ends up with three dead bodies and returns home after not being able to dispose of them properly.
Vaalvi 2023: Ending Explained
In the ending scenes of Vaalvi, we see that Aniket, Anshuman, and Devika all return home after failing miserably in their plans. What started as a simple murder plan ended up leaving them with three different dead bodies. They decide to keep the bodies on the sofa and sit together to talk about the strangest night they’ve been having. While they’re busy chatting about the dead bodies, the chandelier falls onto their heads, killing Aniket, Anshuman, and Devika instantly.
The next day, local Police show up to find the most confusing scene ever, as a few decaying bodies are on the sofa, and three are on the ground. After finding out what was the cause of death, they saw that the Chandelier was tied with a strong nylon rope, which had been infested by termites. They eventually made the rope soft enough to make the chandelier fall.
The ending shows the reason why this movie is named Vaalvi, a word that means termites. It was the termites that Avani was researching that killed her murderers. It’s a hilarious end to a somewhat dark film, but this is what makes Vaalvi so special. It’ll make you laugh at times when you’re not morally supposed to. With Aniket, Anshuman, and Devika all dying in the most unexpected and slightly humorous way possible, the end of Vaalvi was very satisfying.
At present, Vaalvi is available to stream at Zee5.
