Sisters Lyndsay and Leslie are back for another season of Unsellable Houses Season 4. You have to give it to HGTV; they do manage to spin every possible angle when it comes to home improvement, DIY, renovations, and interior decoration shows: From places for people with deep pockets to places that no one wants to buy from a seller.
In this show, homeowners at the brink of collapse put their properties for sale under the advice of the hosts; these women conduct renovations, find potential buyers, and turn a dread-looking piece of real estate into something that might actually sell in today’s real estate market. Sometimes they make it, sometimes they dont, but the difference in the “Before” and “After” shots at some of these places are astonishing.
Unsellable Houses Season 4 Episode 1 Recap
We kick off a new season with a new attitude and fresh faces. Leslie and Lyndsay face a tough challenge for a house built in the 1960s, but that’s about the only thing that shabby place has going for itself. Besides being in a difficult location and place to sell, there are a lot of bad things with this house.
Firstly, if someone was murdered there, that always drops the value of the property and must be disclosed by the real estate broker to any potential buyer. And if that’s not all, with the rough market and the place being a murder scene, the tiles are melting, the plumbing is a mess, and the electrical wiring and insulation need some work done, as well as some fumigation because there is an infestation.
This doesn’t stop Lyndsay and Leslie, who find contractors to fix the tiles, wiring, insulation, and the works, fumigate the place, and after throwing out nearly everything, I mean, they almost stripped the house bare to its foundations, rebuilt several rooms and redecorated the place giving it a modern look with a shot of possibly getting a buyer. They have to beat that murder hurdle, but still, the difference between a murder place and to renovated “For Sale” home is a big one.
