The crime thriller is a Netflix documentary that was released on 9th August 2022. The documentary is a 3 part series. The documentary series shows a case of ‘negligent homicide’ and how dark and cruel it can get. Though the series is very depressing, it shares some eye-opening events that can teach some valuable lessons to the viewer.
Now, before I dive into explaining the end, here is an overview of the documentary for those of you who have not seen it. As stated early, the series is based on a true event. In the year 2019, a boy named Anthony Templet killed his father Brut by shooting him continuously three times. The murder exactly happened in Ingleside, Texas. After the murder of his father, he casually called the police and surrendered by saying he killed his father to defend himself. He also stated his father was drunk and aggressive, so he had no choice.
Initially, the case seemed like a normal case of murder, but the deeper investigators went into the murder, the darker it seemed. It was more than just a case of regular murder. The case, which was found out as just a normal murder, was revealed as a case of homicide. Antony was regularly being harassed both physically and mentally by his father. It is been going on since he stole him from his mother, Teresa. He was tracked everywhere and used to be always controlled by his dad. In the interview with Netflix, he stated, “Brut wanted to control everything. The entire house was on surveillance camera. At every moment, I was been tracked by something.”
So, in short, the whole three-part is all about what happened to him and how his lawyer Jarrett Ambeau fought for him to give him justice.
