Kristin Chenoweth got hit with Cupid’s arrow and has taken her lifetime marriage vows.
The actress and singer, who has won a Tony award and is currently 55 years old, recently got married to her musician spouse, Josh Bryant, who is 41 years old. They celebrated their love in a beautiful wedding ceremony in Dallas, Texas, on September 2nd.
Kristin Chenoweth tells PEOPLE that she has always considered herself a lifelong single woman. Marriage was never in her plans, and she had been engaged before but could not go through with it. However, everything changed when she met Josh. She realized there was no reason to let such an amazing guy slip away. She feels incredibly fortunate.
Kristin Chenoweth had a picture-perfect wedding
They started their wedding weekend on Friday with a rehearsal dinner at Capital Grille and enjoyed a custom cake from Baskin Robbins for dessert. Then, on Saturday, they exchanged vows at a private residence with 140 guests in attendance.
As the couple’s friends and family settled into their seats, a string quartet performed from the balcony of the house. To kick off the ceremony, their dog Thunder, who had an important role in carrying the rings, made a dramatic entrance to the AC/DC song “Thunderstruck.”
When walking down the aisle, Kristin Chenoweth opted for a Pamella Roland dress that had a sheer nude and pink layer with a bow detail at the back. She specifically chose not to wear white, describing the dress as simple and elegant. It had small pearl flowers on the bodice. She mentioned that she never expected to get married, so she went for a nontraditional gown that she loved.
As for Bryant’s father and father-in-law, they wore Michael Strahan suits from Men’s Wearhouse.
During the ceremony, the marriage was officiated by a friend, and the couple shared what Chenoweth jokingly calls “a form of traditional vows.” She humorously adds, “But I am not saying obey!”
The couple incorporated the Christian faith.
The couple aimed to infuse their Christian faith into the ceremony’s music selection. They had “The Prayer” performed by Marissa Rosen, Crystal Monee Hall, Nikki Kimbrough, and Melinda Doolittle, with musical arrangements and accompaniment by Chenoweth, emphasizing the significance of incorporating this element, saying, “That was important to us.”
The wedding decorations, expertly arranged by Crystal Frasier Weddings, created a beautifully romantic atmosphere. The decor included a gentle and charming blend of colors, including white, cream, soft peach, medium pink, and champagne hues.
The wedding venue was adorned with a breathtaking assortment of flowers like calla lilies, garden roses, majolica, spray roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, veronica, mums, and various rich seasonal greenery.
Bryant says that he did not need to ask Kristin. He had the feeling that the theme would have some connection to pink. For Chenoweth, maintaining authenticity was a key priority for this significant occasion.

The festivities at the wedding
After the heartfelt vows, the attendees enjoyed custom cocktails, such as the “Wicked Margarita,” inspired by Chenoweth’s role as Glinda the Good Witch in the popular Broadway production. They also savored a “Bryant Old Fashioned” and a “Thundertini Martini.”
The dinner had a “Southern comfort” theme with dishes like beef tenderloin, creamy mashed potatoes, and green beans. There was also chicken, steak fries, and crispy fried pickles. Pasta options included chicken or meatball varieties, and they served salads alongside flatbreads.
As a sweet ending to their celebrations, the newlyweds sliced into their grand five-layer wedding cake made with Mexican vanilla beans and filled with buttercream. In addition, each table received a unique box filled with delightful treats, including Belgian chocolate bonbons, chocolate salami, and gourmet cookies crafted by Nacho Aguirre from Delice Chocolatier San Antonio.
