Baki Hanma is making a comeback with Son of Ogre season 2 premiering this year, and it couldn’t be more exciting. Owing to its popularity, we know the show follows 17-year-old Baki, a martial artist who fights formidable opponents from around the globe. Will we see Baki facing off against new opponents? His father, the strongest creature on Earth, push to new heights? We can find out on July 26 when the first part of Son of Ogre season 2 will premiere.
One of the standout elements of the series is the animation and sometimes 3D animation. Every fight scene is beautifully choreographed and animated, every move feeling like a real movie or show. The perfectly complementing soundtrack adds the anime to the top charts. The character development adds a great essence to the ongoing series.
TMS dropped an English-subtitled trailer for season 2, revealing more details about the upcoming anime. Theme songs, cast, and its worldwide debut. As mentioned before, the first part will debut on Netflix on July 26, and its second part will follow on August 24. The anime created a large fanbase, but let’s see how it was successful in doing so.

Son of Ogre: Season 2 Release Date
The Son of Ogre season 2 will debut for Japanese viewers as well as for international fans on Netflix. The first part will follow “Tale of Pickle & The Pickle War Saga” (July 26), and the second part will tell the story of “The Father VS Son Saga” (August 24).
This season features a new monster, Pickle, and he might just be the strongest opponent to be introduced yet. Voiced by Takeshi Kusao, Pickle is a primitive age warrior from many decades ago. Yes, you read it correctly. Leave it to Baki to feature some strange and questionable moments! Another addition to the cast includes Dr. Albert Payne (voiced by Nobuo Tobita), who resurrected Pickle from the dead.
We’re aware of the quality opening and ending themes of Baki, so we can’t wait to hear the upcoming opening “The Beast” by Waggakki Band and ending “WILDER” by UPSTART!
TMS also dropped an English sub-trailer:
Baki Hanma: Season 1 and 2
BAKI, which is technically the first season of the Baki Hanma franchise released in 2020, is based on the manga (Baki) written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki. The first season has three parts, the last part titled “The Great Raitai Tournament Saga.” The first two parts follow a high-school-going Baki who is challenged by five death row inmates who escaped to earn the title of “Strongest Alive.” You’d think Baki fights them all and emerges as the unbeaten hero. Instead, a team of other formidable fighters comes together to show the inmates where they belong.
“Baki” continues with the Raitai Tournament arc. Here, Baki is infected with a poison that infiltrated his body during his battle with Ryukoh ‘Poison Hand’ Yanagi. Losing his strength and body build, Baki feels like everything is coming to an end. However, he enters the tournament, and by reverse poison, he is cured and able to fight like before.
Season 2 of Baki is Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre. This season features Baki, who is determined to become stronger to defeat his father, Yujiro Hanma. He purposely gets himself arrested so he can become an inmate in Arizona State Prison, exposing himself to America’s beast. This beast is Mr. Oliva or “Unchained.” Baki wishes to fight Mr. Oliva as a way to tell if he is ready to fight his father.
Worth A Watch?
Most of the series is just fighting and testosterone-filled scenes, but I would recommend giving it a try. The fight scenes sometimes don’t make sense, “How is he still alive” but that’s what makes Baki so interesting to watch. It is bizarre (much like our beloved JoJo) moments that make the series fascinating and fun. You suddenly feel the urge of wanting to become the strongest in the world as well. Let us know what you think of the previous seasons!
