Format of The Great British Bake Off
Where several contestants who are taking part in the show have to face various challenges & have to present their skills in front of the judges & the whole world, there are three kinds of challenges that each contestant has to go through every week.
First is “Signature Bake” In this challenge, the contestants are tasked to bake one of their well-known dishes, which they have been baking & practicing for several years. It’s one of the least complicated rounds, as the contestants have to bake their tried and tested recipes.
The 2nd challenge is called as “Technical Challenge.” This challenge mainly tests individual baker’s technical skills in baking. The judges here try to evaluate whether or not they are good at the basics & can they even produce something really good out of it. In this round, the contestants are just provided with the ingredients, and with these ingredients, they have to accomplish the baking task assigned to them.
The last and final challenge is called as “Showstopper Challenge.” It’s the most important challenge among the three challenges. Here the bakers have to show their creativity along with their baking skills and have to create something unique, professional, and delicious.
Those candidates who successfully manage to impress the judges with their incredible baking skills shall become the star baker of the week. At the same time, the one who scores less and fails to impress the judges shall be eliminated.
