Love Island Season 9 Episode 37 was all about Martin and Tanya’s drama. At the start of Episode 37, Tanya is apologizing profusely to Shaq, and they’re saying their “love you’s” and off in the distance you can see Martin vexed.
And away from Shaq and Tanya, Martin says that he had a gut feeling that Tanya will be like, “oh man, you’re thinking too much all the time”. And we can tell by his face and the words that he is speaking, that he is frustrated.
Now if we’re gonna use the term “Played” for anybody this whole season, it’s Martin. I think he did not put in as much effort as he believes that he could be the show producer, but I highly doubt that. Let’s talk more about Episode 37.
Although Tanya’s speech, I believe grand violation requires grand apologies, that is my personal philosophy, but that should have been a “y’all too moment”. It should have been a “y’all too moment” or the grand gesture should have been after ironing everything out with Martin.
What Happened Last Night On Love Island Season 9 Episode 37?
Tanya says, “I didn’t have time to tell Martin about the kiss”. Bro, you told Jessie, Shaq told Kai and Ron. You have the whole day, so I don’t know why she is telling us that she didn’t have the time. Martin says he felt like people were talking behind his back. And Yeah, they definitely were. A lot of people are Shaq riders, and they just really ride for Shaq. Shaq is obviously over the moon that, you know, things are back together, things are great, and whatnot.
However, Martin feels like he wants to stir up some drama. And here goes Olivia with her purse named Maxwell’s talking about “Yeah, you should definitely cause some drama. Go ahead and do it”. So when Martin says “I feel like causing some drama right now”, Maxwell says “You should cause some drama and I’ve got your back.”
Martin Causes Some Drama
So Martin goes to pull Tanya for a chat and says, “You’re not sincere. You made me look like I was dumb. You are a liar. You made me look like an idiot. When were you gonna tell me that you went downstairs to kiss Shaq?.” Then he goes on say that he knew, he had a feeling about this when the first time she went to the bathroom.
I’m going to talk about Olivia later, so we’ll just hold off on her and Maxwell, who is a waste of space. With Martin, I would be on his side a little bit more if I had seen him take initiative in the pursuit of Tanya. But I didn’t see anything at all. And we could be missing stuff.
Maybe they’re gonna show something in the movie night or so. I don’t know but he really wants to take this victim role and make it seem like Tanya just flat-out lied to him and strung him along. It’s really hard for me to believe, truly. But whatever, he’s really upset about the situation, and he’s more upset at the fact that her decision was made once she kissed Shaq, but she made it seem like, “no, I didn’t know…”, no girl, you knew. Even from the moment you came in, you knew that you made a mistake.
And I wish she framed it that way more than just “No, I wanna fully give Martin a chance.” No, you didn’t want to give Martin any chance. Once you came back and you saw Shaq and you realized your heart ached for him, I
It was over for Martin.
So anyways, Martin is still like, talking under his breath and going and talking to the other people and talking like, “hold on a minute. I asked you if you were done. You said yes. Clearly you’re not. So let me end it now”. So after Martin calls Tanya a liar, Tanya says to Martin “let me tell you something. One thing you’re not gonna do is call me a liar”. To this Martin says, “I just thought she was a liar and she was insincere”.
Tanya has always been straight up when it came to Martin in terms. Well, how she always been straight up, I don’t know, that’s kind of contradictory. She’s been blunt, not straight up, but blunt. So I’m not surprised that she handed his ass to him. She genuinely feels vindicated. She feels justified. She feels like she did not do anything wrong, which is false, but that is her opinion. So of course she’s going to stand in it. She does kind of retract a little bit when she slept on it but as for the night, that’s where she’s at.
Shaq Listens To What Martin Has To Say
Shaq is aware that things don’t really include him, even though they kind of do. So he does hear Martin out when Martin is saying, “do you understand where I’m coming from?”
So while speaking to Shaq, Martin says “she was being very insensitive. Because it was very different. She showed her different colors in Casa Amor and everyone can see that. And she said to me that he brought out a different side of her.” Then when he says that when he asked Tanya he was just a “stepping stone”, she used to say “No, you’re not, you’re my test”. To this Shaq says to Martin “I think you both said what you needed to say. Now I think that there’s nothing more to be said”.
I do wish just a little bit that Shaq came with the “I understand where you’re coming from, but that’s my woman and you don’t talk to her like that”. Do you know what I mean? I wish that was his energy but it wasn’t. We know Shaq is a pretty principled person. So he understood that Tanya was in the wrong in this situation and nobody really had called her out besides Lana’s little blip there and Martin.
So I’m glad that Martin did have somebody in his corner during that evening to really hear him out, not for drama’s sake, but because he was wrong in the situation. And yeah, even though I wish that Shaq kind of had a little bit more of a “don’t talk about my woman” like that, he is Shaq, and his response was so Shaq.
Olivia Tells Tanya To Apologize To Martin
So on the next morning of Love Island Season 9 Episode 37, the resident “Girl’s Girl” is sitting in front of Tanya and has the audacity to tell her to go and apologize to Martin because it’s the right thing to do. So while speaking to Tanya, Olivia says “Yeah, you definitely should put an arm out and apologize. and I think he will appreciate it. I genuinely do think that is the right thing to do. And as your friend, I’m gonna tell you that straight”.
Oh, now Olivia wanna talk about the “right things to do”. The right thing to do yesterday would have been for you to have a level head while talking to Martin knowing that he is very amped up and to say, “hey, maybe let’s let things simmer down, maybe tonight is the night to stir up drama” or whatever. But definitely not do what you did and then turn around the next day and talk about “I’m a girl’s girl and I’m looking out for you and as your friend, I think you should apologize to him”.
Zara has been on a PR tour basically saying she chose Olivia just because she thought Olivia would take it on the chin and she was the closest person to her at the time, calling her two-faced. Zara, I want you to retract that statement, you knew she was too faced. I’m putting words in your mouth, but you knew she was too faced. And every single episode proves you correct.
So anyways, Tanya does end up apologizing. She does admit that in the heat of the moment, she said things that were out of line and were not very nice to Martin. She feels like withholding information about the kiss was not fair. And Martin reiterated that it was not the kiss, it was how she went about addressing the kiss and the fact that she knew her mind was made-up but didn’t want to admit it at the time. Tanya claims that’s not the case. I feel like we all know that was the case, but we’re moving on.
Casey Is Mad About What Claudia Said
Casey hits with an absolute curveball. And there was a comment that Claudia said the night before basically saying that if Casey would have partnered up with somebody else, things would be over. And Casey didn’t like that.
So while speaking to Tom, Casey says “if Claudia was rooting for Tanya to get back with Shaq, how can she be saying that she would have left him and done after that to him if I was recoupled after three days”. Then Casey goes on to say, “I wouldn’t mind her really getting to know someone else.”
Casey, let me tell you, something bro, you were at the bottom of my list. Not like dead bottom, but you’re near there. If you can manage, hear me out, if you can manage to orchestrate the eviction of Claudia and Olivia, you’ll be at the top of my list, my personal list.
Olivia And Her Purse, Maxwell
So Olivia is out here with her gossip crew and she cannot get over the fact that Kai is just such a different person after Casa. So while speaking to Tom, Samie, and Maxwell, Olivia says “I just think the girls have seen, like, a big change in Kai. I don’t know. Is he just like that with any girl? And that’s just how I feel about that”.
Listen, my bone at this point isn’t even a pick with Olivia. My bonus pick with Maxwell. Maxwell, you’re gonna take this girl call Olivia? At every waking moment, this girl is going to have another man’s name in her mouth and you are just going to sit here and take it? Not even just sit there and take it, also at your own will? Oh, Maxwell is just Olivia’s purse, and he is an accessory to her. Oh my gosh, Maxwell.
And Olivia makes it seem like she and Maxwell are doing so great and whatnot, but all I see her do is bitch about other people with him. Maxwell, bro, you have a Gossip Girl, this is not what you call a partner. But if that works for you then fine. But Oh my gosh, Maxwell, personally I wouldn’t have it.
Claudia Is Mad At Casey About Him Wanting To Be With Lana
Love Island Season 9 Episode 37 ends with Claudia being frustrated at the fact that Casey would partner up with Lana and not Samie because, well, he and Lana had a little stint together and she thought that was dead. Clearly, maybe it’s not.
So Claudia says, “It’s a weird one. It’s like, we know that he’s joking a bit”. I didn’t understand a single word of the second line that she said after this because of her UK accent. But by her way of speaking, she meant to say that there is a point to someone joking, where it feels like that guy is speaking the truth.
So she basically, according to me, thinks that Casey was telling that “he would have coupled up with Lana if Claudia was still here” as a joke, but she thinks that he was just telling the truth that is inside his head/heart.
Then while speaking to the boys, Casey says that if it wasn’t for Lana saying to him that her heart was still with Ron, he might still be with her. I don’t even know why it was a shock to Claudia, honestly, because Casey didn’t choose to end things with Lana, Lana ended things with him. So given the opportunity, I think that he would want to continue.
And he and Samie seemed to have a friendship. But as you said, when Lana and he had a thing, Samie was already here. So I don’t know where Claudia is getting this whole thing. Oh, gosh, Claudia I want you gone. I want her gone, I want Olivia gone, I just want them both gone.
