The show Designated Survivor on Netflix focuses on Thomas Adam, played by Kiefer Sutherland, who is a politician in America and is appointed as a designated survivor for the state.
Unfortunately for him, he is kept in a tight spot when he is asked to leave his position as the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and become the new President of the U.S. after a lethal explosion kills all the members who were in the line to become the next President just in case if anything happens to the current President.
Designated Survivor revolves around his actions and less experience as head of the state. With all this, he is also pushing to find out what was the root of the attack. The show came out in 2016, and since then, it has got fairly positive reviews from the audience and critics. The series blends the personal obstacles of the main character with professional duties.
For the people who have already binged the series, this list is exactly for you. For this list, I have made sure that the recommendations are around the set plot. Other than this, the list will also have some surprises and totally new and unexpected shows.
This list is in no particular order, just read the brief of the shows, look out for a series as per your liking, grab some popcorn, and go for it. I am certain of it that you will find a show or two to enjoy.

Scandal
The finest show featuring an African American heroine ever made may not be as witty or as fast-paced as it could be. It’s refreshing to see a strong, attractive woman in command of her own life.
It’s realistic in that it doesn’t have too many subplots, is dramatic but not too intense for the average viewer, and is both continuous and fragmented enough to make the storyline of each episode separate. Shonda Rhimes and the other writers’ phenomenal skills may be seen in their creation of powerful characters and intricate plot lines.
Just a few house shows truthfully mesmerize adults looking for something different beyond formulaic writing and storytelling. It is a good show and has received good feedback from the viewers for the seven seasons it ran. You can definitely have a look at Scandal once.

Boss
Instead of being based on Royko’s novel, the new series Boss is almost a history of Chicago’s grittier politics and policies. It captures the heroic and anti-heroic actions taken by our idolized mayor and boss, Kelsey, who has Superb Grammar.
The cast is fantastic, seems to be thinking about him while playing since his presence is so domineering. The Bulldog Mayor, the King of the City, and the Boss are Kelsey Grammar. The writing is top-notch. Camera work, settings, costumes, and production design are all superior in terms of technical quality.
The acting is really wonderful, and I give a lot of respect to the directors and producers who are doing everything properly, getting out of the way when they should and thinking aloud when they should, to get wild performances on a TV screen.

Homeland
This TV show centers on a CIA operative who suffers from a serious mental illness. She strives to balance her therapy, her relationships, and her career, to which she is utterly committed. The seasons regularly spin near terrorism, and there is some divergence in how gripping the stories are within this.
Remember that this program is less action-oriented than the bulk of programs in this genre, such as 24, Jack Ryan, etc. Because of this, I wouldn’t describe it as quick-paced, but it isn’t slothful either.
For aficionados of spy and intelligence, the narrative twists and the way the saga grows are even more captivating and thrilling. Overall is a good watch, it has a big star cast and so many elements, but all of them fall in the right place.
- Released in: 2011

Show Me a Hero
The show is based on actual incidents. Specifically, the contentious low-income housing project that a federal judge ordered Yonkers, New York, to develop in white middle-class neighborhoods in 1987. Do not be deceived by the seemingly uninteresting concept; this is top-notch television.
The main topics address racism and segregation, which are still very many current problems in the United States. The Yonkers City debate on the subject is rather horrible since it is obvious that prejudice and racism are the reasons why no one wants low-income housing in their different neighborhoods.
Show Me a Hero highlights the racism that still exists in America and how the underprivileged handle it. It is a great show to watch and kill time.

The Good Wife
With a new case delivered in each episode, this show leans better in the direction of courtroom acting. Each case is masterfully played, and the storylines are inviting and original. Although Julianne is wonderful, her supporting players are much more flawless; not at all a weak supporting cast.
They work with many directors, but they unfailingly furnish special episodes. There will be method acting, clever and compelling storylines, and always a hint of comedy. All the supporting cast’s characters have premium character development.
All in all, it is a good drama with a unique plot for each episode, which keeps it fresh for the viewers. It also recollects the life of lawyers in a buoyant form.

Borgen
In this play, the newsroom of the major TV house TV1 is seen as it operates concurrently with the organization of a new ministry in Denmark. Each story has a strong female protagonist who strives to strike a balance between the demands of morals and principles and the reality of their everyday working life.
The first female prime minister’s personal life and the duties of politics are both extensively covered in the media. Outstanding acting is present. The way the media and politics are mixed together is so deftly done it successfully blends drama with reality.
Each actor in this series deserves praise. The authors and producers are of gold-medal caliber. A strong, sophisticated bundle that excels in drama, entertainment, and real life.

The Honourable Woman
A very powerful Israeli woman named Nessa Stein, played by Maggie Gyllenhaal, is determined to employ her position and resources to try to reunite Israelis and Palestinians.
Assassinated in front of her as a youth, her father was an arms dealer who amassed a vast felicity, but at a price Nessa finds it difficult to bear. Now that she is an adult, she and her brother want to help Israel’s Palestinian communities become more economically and self-sufficient by bringing high-speed internet to those places.
The photography, editing, and music are equally fantastic, working together to produce a show that, artistically, feels much more like a top-tier auteur film than TV. This is an intense, intricate material. Unavoidably, you will occasionally go lost, and it says a lot about the character and Hugo’s vision for the show.

The West Wing
This series aced speedy speech and rapid, witty character interactions. It also famed the “walk and chat” scenario, in which roles oftentimes have brief conversations while walking from their offices to a designed meeting.
In order to match the verbal pace of the clever pattern, this gave the scenes a physical rhythm. Because of the syllabic pace and clever wordplay, the sentences almost read like song lyrics. This show features tension, humor, and hints of romance in addition to tension, comedy, and writing.
See a few of the quotations. Just give the show an option. It is a fresh show, different from all other traditional shows in this category. I am certain that you will like the show. Each character brings something unique to the plot and representation on the screen.

The Crown
The show has famous actors, moves quickly, gorgeous photography, and ravishing outfits. In addition to all of that, watching The Crown has changed the way I view the royal family, especially Queen Elizabeth. To be completely honest, I didn’t know much about her private life.
The television show depicts the royal family’s struggles and helps us understand that, at their core, they are all just humans with concerns and emotions. In every way, it exemplifies the height of historical period filmmaking.
You cannot get out of the chair for several hours to end scanning it because of the excellent acting and carefully crafted storyline. t is a great show for the audience who wants to know about the royal family but be aware that not everything shown in the show is real. Truth is partially mixed with fiction.

House of Cards
Kevin Spacey is wild as Francis Underwood, the minority whip, who has proposed the job of Secretary of State in a swap for his efforts but is passed up by the President-elect because he believes Spacey will be more useful to him if he abides in Congress.
A resentful Underwood and his equally resentful wife, recreated perfectly by Robin Wright, quickly alter into a highly intelligent Lord, and Lady Macbeth is determined to fulfill all of Underwood’s promises and more, maybe even winning the presidency in four years.
House of Cards has accumulated the attention of many mainstream viewers and critics all across the industry, and I must say it has earned positive reviews about the six seasons that it lasted. It was dark, and the description was posh, which was liked by everyone, given that it is so popular ar. All in all, it is good to watch one should wholly observe.

24
Each season has 24 episodes, with each episode representing one hour of the show. This is how “24” got its name since each season is identical to a whole day. The series switches back and forth between several people and concurrently occurring scenarios.
To save American national security and the people he cares about, the main character Jack Bauer does all in his power. The idea of acting in the int rests of the larger good recurs repeatedly, and Jack is pushed to make seriously chewy decisions and bear the costs of his choices.
This show will make you experience every feeling known to man, yet it is still a high-caliber, riveting narrative. A fun watch filled with thrill, action, and intense un. The episodes are designed in such a way that they will keep you on the rim of your seat.

Condor
A mid-level CIA analyst unknowingly enters the most secretive areas of covert operations, killing every member of his team in the process. In addition to the verity that he is hiding out, his employer is certain that someone at the CIA must be accountable.
Each episode of the program ends in suspense, leaving you curious as to what will happen next. I haven’t felt that way about a program in a very long time. Max Irons is a thrill to watch as the main character “Joe Turner” not only is he a fantastic actor but he is also effortless on the eyes.
Brendan Fraser also seems like a guest star in the show; his character, “Nathan,” is not one we are accustomed to seeing him play. This show’s screenplay, directing, and cinematography are also n noteworthy. The plot may feel repetitive and boring but sit back and try to watch it slowly, and it will keep you hooked.

S.W.A.T.
School shootings, discrimination, women’s trafficking, big business greed for profits, health care that enriches itself and becomes out of reach for those with low incomes, abuse of police power, drug smuggling, organ trafficking, and many other topics are touched on in the series in a non-pushy but very considerate fashion.
Other than providing entertaining action and drama, S. W. A. T. exposes us to a world that upholds a number of crucial moral principles that we may apply to our daily movements and countless social problems. Problems that, if we tackle them together, we may overcome and overcome.
It is a good show, and you will find many negative reviews. Do not believe in any of those reviews, and watch it for yourself. I can assure you that it will keep you entertained and will keep you asking for the next episode.

Madam Secretary
The protagonist of this drama, Elizabeth, played by Tea Leoni, is a school teacher and former CIA employee who is hand-picked by the President to succeed her precursor as secretary of state when the latter dies in a car accident.
Tea is the model picked for this position because of her calm demeanor; she fits into it like it was built just for her. With Henry played by Tim Daly, her on-screen spouse, a marvelous actor, and their three children, it’s just a very good series. In other words, you have people that recreate well off of one another and keep pushing the show in ways where it would typically not go with a fresh cast.
The rest of the cast are all superior entertainers as well. Madam Secretary doesn’t stay shy in questioning some tough questions on ethics. The initial episodes were balanced, but as the series moves along, there is a lot of variety in the episodes and plot of each episode.

Veep
Selina first suggests as a self-damaging person, attended by some ineffective supporters, but when the probability shows itself, she transforms into a politician who is fair of a nightmare for any democracy.
The self-centered Selina is the public face of many modern politicians, who are effectively a two-dimensional cut-out intentionally cultivated with the aid of the media as if their dispositions were there to support their dwarf-like figures.
The comedy is quick-witted, f st-paced, and dry. As soon as one joke starts to land, the next one has already started and is being delivered by a splendid choir that knows when to play it straight.
Every single team member is prime and a true jewel. The parade of other characters is fantastic. You cannot stop smiling and lifting your eyebrows in surprise. Overall a funny watch, and totally recommended.

The Blacklist
There is little time for the backstories of the other characters because the episodes’ narratives are fast-paced and bite-sized. While the between-episode narrative is still developing, it is not an action soap.
I got quite reliant on the plot as it progressed. I don’t understand why the main characters don’t seem fearful at all, the tension and narrative twists seem contrived, and I think that most of the plot is clear. James Spaderi s the show’s major pull, and he is the only incentive to watch it.
His performance is immaculate, and he maintains joy and connection with the other A-list actors. Jon’s performance fits the tie between the audience and the director’s intent. You should watch the show, even if it’s just for the aforementioned.

Covert Affairs
Annie Walker, played by Piper Perabo, enters the CIA’s Domestic Protection Division as a brand-new agent. Christopher Gorham’s character Auggie Anderson, a blind tech and operative, befriends Annie.
Until it is finally made public, she maintains her personal life a mystery from her sister Danielle, played by Anne Dudek, who lives in her guest home. Arthur, played by Peter Gallagher, the husband, and Joan Campbell, the wife of a team that Kari Matchett saw, are her superiors.
Hill Harper’s character Calder Michaels later succeeds him as the new chief. The characterization was superior. Few television series have been able to transmit the close-knit technique as the authors did in the pilot.

The Mentalist
The entire cast is awesome, but Simon Baker’s painting of Patrick Jane stands out as the peach. He was born to play this role. A former “psychic” who now works for the California Bureau of Investigation is the focus of the narrative. He uses his eminent psyche and inclined adherence to find creative solutions to problems.
Red John, the assassin of his wife and daughter, is the person he is looking for. Despite the truth that the show primarily follows the more nonchalant tack to the crime subgenre, with the trope of false herrings, bungled authority, and a sleuth on a personal quest, the charm of Simon Baker as the immediate researcher Patrick Jane keeps the program together.
The program’s titular main personality invariably lives up to expectations. While he is harsh, flimsy, and glib, he is liable and has promise. You will hero-worship him across the seven seasons of the series because he is paradoxical, imperfect, and at the same time, warm and cold.

Harrow
Acting, camera work, comedy, and workspace chitchat all added to the believable environment. His dreadful past hangs over everything and threatens to be displayed, ruining it all. A crime is solved, the body from Harrow’s Secret gets some attention, and some progress is done with it.
This pattern can be found in every episode. The main character, who occurs to have been alone for some time, also undergoes some sort of romantic relationship. Indeed, the narrative has some fragile spots, broadly as a result of made-up elements.
This kind of series often features the ex-wife, the naive, rowdy daughter, and the current love interest a million times. Just relax in the first season to relish the show in the second since that’s when it starts to shine.

CSI: NY
This series provides us with more character insight, but it does it slowly and leaves us with s me unresolved issues. Gary Sinise’s portrait of Mac Taylor, a likable man who is still mourning the loss of his wife from 9/11, has the potential to challenge Grissom from the original since Petersen’s contract expired in 2006. Melina and the other actors are all staunch supporters of him.
Everything a respectable cop show ought to have, including strong lead personalities, tangible stories, and, most crucially, cinematic production values, is present and perfect in CSI: NY. Not that this indicates the series had a strong beginning.
The stories are quite different from the earlier two, and the actors excel in their parts. These characters are totally typical of other CSI characters from other television programs.
- Released in: 2004

Quantico
It’s suspenseful, character-driven, and keeps you guessing with the story alternating between the present, with a shocking terrorist attack and the search for the suspect, and the past, with the coaching and interrelations of a class of recruits at Quantico, each of whom has their own complicated reasons for aspire to be an FBI agent.
The use of flashbacks is a highly influential form that helps viewers get to know the roles via the training they get and their own unique tales, which are slowly revealed in each following episode. The speed of the show is its finest feature.
It moves quickly enough to captivate you and keep you on the fringe of your seat across the suspenseful narrative. Definitely watch for the thrill and fun, especially for Priyanka Chopra. Other than her, the other cast is amazing and compliments her and the plot wholly.

Blindspot
The introductory lead character in “Blindspot,” Jane Doe, is an anonymous lady who possesses skills that are irregular for either men or women in society. She is only susceptible because she has no memory and has tattoos addressed to the FBI all over her body.
The spectator is drawn in by the fiction and wants to return week after week. The action is fa t-paced and thrilling. Like most dramas, but still worth watching. Yet, it follows the same design as the bulk of police dramas: a crime is done, the police learn about it, they strive to gather the evidence, and they determine who, what, when, and where the criminality ensued.
Resolve the crime or kill the criminal. The authors deserve a lot of credit for the ensemble chemistry, the compelling storylines, and how everything is again and again l shed with one another. The only thing that appeared to bewilder me was a minor chronology error that surfaced near the time when everything happened.

Criminal Minds
An elite group of FBI profilers who look into the nation’s most bizarre crimes and murders is the subject of the television series Criminal Minds. They strive to extrapolate out ways to outsmart these murderers so they can catch them before they kill more people.
This show ran for 16 seasons because it was that wonderful. Even though it has only been off the air for a short time, fans have missed it so much that it will return later this year with the same cast in addition to the 16 seasons. All of the characters in the show have outstanding scripts and development.
Given that it has 16 seasons, it may feel boring somewhere in between. But it has a fine vibe all along, and it will keep you entertained. You can always go and watch something else and come back and continue this.

American Odyssey
The plot of the series American Odyssey came out in 2015. This fascinating yet complex plot explores what occurs when a big institution becomes involved in a political conspiracy for financial gain and tries to hide it.
A girl in her teens who is a political activist, a girl who is a capable trooper and kills a terrorist who was on the most wanted list, and there is a lawyer who is ready to work in a firm that is over their heads, all of these elements gives a very unique and rebellious stance on how the plan will function.
Although BBC has undoubtedly created a bountiful crop of hard-hitting yet ripe exposed episodes, this show lacks the expressive phrasing or luscious stirs of series of the same kind made in Europe.
The series has a good plot and scenes, and the camera works as it was under the vi ion of three directors. The name of the show is changed from American Odyssey to Odyssey, so do not get confused and it is the same show.
- Released in: 2015

The Event
The storyline is challenging. This is not intended for a casual lesson. As you watch, You’ll be disoriented. In the early episodes, it is murky if the plane vanishing at the end of the pilot represents “The Event” or not.
However, with each episode, more and more open pieces about the roles and events in the show are divulged, and the suspense generated by not knowing who the good guys and the bad guys are increases. He even gets compared a lot to Lost, and it is pretty evident why so.
Sadly the series was canceled right after the first season, which left the fans completely shocked as it was well-accepted by the audience. Now, this is out of the way. If you want, you can look at the show but be aware that it has no end, and it will get no ending.

Taken
The past dozen or so years have seen Clive Standen seen as Bryan Mills put in his time, but in Taken, he portrays a former CIA operative and is now the main character in his own tensioned tv show.
When you’ve just completed binging the pilot episode and feel like the series has just started and you want more of the same, the show s packed with fast-paced action, thrill, and suspense that will keep you on the bite. While the e are better series on the air right now, it isn’t the greatest in terms of writing and storyline.
But there’s so much promise for this show. But the show is a good extension of the original Liam Neeson movies, so if you liked the original Taken movies, then definitely check out this show.

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan
The way makers, producers, directors, and writers—never lost sight of the more comprehensive image and treated other countries’ suffering with more respect than America’s. They used Tom Clancy‘s foundational work to create this graphic Pandora’s box of everything that inspires us to hope for a better world.
Even if we don’t live in a perfect world, the desire to do what is right still has a consequential sway on the problems we face in real life. Jack Ryan is a symbol of the strength of willpower that exists in each of us. The most enchanting element of it is how accurately it portrays issues that are very real, even though some of the mechanics are fake.
It is a great show, and John Krasinski is the go-to man in the show. His presence on the screen feels like a different level of energy. The series has 3 seasons, and they all are good. A must-watch, in my opinion.

How to Get Away with Murder
The series is incredibly suspenseful and cleverly constructed. The point that they ever confirm your mind is blown is what makes the program so fantastic. By the end of the season, the present and future sets blend into one another in an adept style so that you are not left wondering what happened.
The show keeps switching between present scenes and future scenes, which keeps you intrigued about how this character can become this character and do these things. This is the TV thriller you want if you want something that will keep you turning the pages.
How to Get Away with Murder is a good show and keeps you high with its runtime of six seasons. Viola Davis is striking across the series, and you will see that in each scene when she is on the screen. How to Get Away with Murder is a unique show with its plot and premise. If you like this type of genre, then you should check it out.

The Wire
Despite the actuality that The Wire seems to be a drama about crime, it is about the life and soul of a whole city. The way the city of Baltimore is illustrated in the episodes is influenced by the writing, the direction, the great executions by the spectacular cast, the soundtrack, the cinematography, and the realism.
The writing in The Wire is the best you will ever read or watch; the stories are tempting, and the roles are recognizable and well-rounded. Although every episode is superbly handled, there are very less events when you feel fooled by its conclusion.
Renowned actors are Idris Elba and Dominic West. In conclusion, it is a great watch that is very worth watching due to the great performances by every member of the star cast and the compelling storyline.

Succession
Succession makes sure that even in the subtlest of ways, you can see the brutishness of the Roy family’s life beneath the garish, flamboyant character of the Roy family. The series both celebrates and deconstructs the vicinity on which it is based.
And I can’t identify ever finding a character-driven drama to be as fresh and exciting. Even though aggressive confiscations are depleting to those who are not engaged in finance, this presentation makes sure you are aware of the risks involved. Contrary to what some may claim, characters are not flat. Everyone in this series is flawed.
Even though they all arise to be selfish, each one has flaws, and their motive is deeply ingrained in their personality. Overall, this is one of the greatest series ever produced. Every season is just as good as the others, which is odd. None of the seasons is poor or a letdown because of its script and performances by the actors.
- Released in: 2018

Shades of Blue
A whole police division’s squad is complicit in police corruption in Shades of Blue. Harlee Santos, played by mega actress Jennifer Lopez, and Detective Matt Wozniak, played by Ray Liotta, are the two main characters in this dishonest police squad.
Harlee portrays an experienced officer who is also a single mother caring for her daughter, who is 16 years old. Cellist prodigy Cristina Santos, portrayed by Sarah Jeffery, needs a sizable financial gift to enroll in a private school for musicians. The idea is legible enough, and Shades of Blue has a meritorious onset and a somewhat unsettling structure.
It should have some success if it adheres to these real guides rather than stealing ideas from other shows. There are other motives, like the plot, the cast, and the general vibe of the show.
