It follows the story of a transgender activist Caz who has returned back to his home in Rūrangi.
The show is created by Oliver Page and unlike other shows which are based on transgender characters and their lives, this show presents a more realistic and fresher approach to the show with the following Caz’s life as he navigates relationships and family relations.
The show has been written with utmost detail and attention to the plot with a trans panel who advised as a consultant for the making of the show. The show is credited to have over ninety-five per cent of cast and crew who identify as non-binary.
The show is a five-episodic show which was later turned into a feature film. The film first premiered on July 26th, 2020 at New Zealand International Film Festival.
It was also later screened at BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, The Melbourne Queer Film Festival and also at the Mardi Gras Film Festival. The show has received honours and awards for its great production and was critically praised for its smooth filming and production of the show.
The show stars Elz Carrad, Awhina-Rose Ashby, Cohen Holloway, Liam Coleman, Arlo Geeen and Kirk Torrance in the lead roles who played their roles extremely efficiently and greatly.
The show was later renewed for its season two in 2021 and the show has now finally returned for its second season on Sunday, February 12th, 2023. The show has already managed to get the attention of a huge audience who have loved the feature film before.

A Brief Sypnosis of the Show
Rūrangi is based on the story of a transgender man Caz Davis who finally returns back to his home town Rūrangi after a long time. Upon coming back to his home finds the town to not be the same that he has once left rather it is now more politically divided and more remote than it was before. He tries to once fit into his old lifestyle there without compromising his identity.
Rūrangi is a fictional town that is located in New Zealand, based in a remote location and hence, is not very popular. Caz, who before leaving the town found himself in a tough spot with his father tries to reconnect with him and reconcile during his stay. Back in the city, he is an activist and for several years he has been estranged from his father, who he hasn’t seen since he transitioned.
The show is a beautiful collection of Caz’s life’s phases which he passed very beautifully and learns about life a little more intimately than he did before.

The show is an emotional rollercoaster at times but at the same moment, it celebrates love and friendships as it portrays the rawest human emotions without any breakage in the story. For the very same reason, Oliver has been credited for his work and the way the story of the show has bonded itself.
The show returned for season two with a huge amount of fans already waiting to see their favorite characters to be seen on screen and the next episode’s wait is also almost over, as Rūrangi Season 2 Episode 2 will be aired on Sunday, 19th February 2023. The upcoming episode of the show will be titled Face Value.

Streaming Guide for Rūrangi Season 2 Episode 2
The next episode Face Value will be streaming on the online platform that is Hulu. Hulu has officially acquired the streaming rights to the show and hence the show will be aired on Hulu itself.
The running time for each episode is 18 mins and the episode is the 2nd out of the five episodes set for this season. Other than that the show is also available on Disney+ in selective countries only moreover the show can also be watched on ESPN+ with the required subscription to the websites.
