In 2021, Giuliana Rancic stepped down after two decades as the host of E! Red Carpet coverage! The popular television host further announced that she has signed a development deal with NBCUniversal while implying that there would be several promising projects to come in near future.
While talking about it, Rancic explained how one of her passions is great storytelling and she is thrilled to announce a brand new development deal with E!’s parent company NBC Universal as she will be producing and bringing stories to life.
Earlier in an interview, the host admitted that she is looking forward to more flexibility in life while having that flexibility to give 100 per cent to their restaurants and other businesses and also to doing things that she is passionate about. The popular television host got into a huge controversy in a 2015 scandal where she said downing about Zendaya. While the Spider-Man actress was just 18 at that time, Rancic stared that Zendaya’s dreadlock hair look at the Oscars seemingly smelled of “patchouli” and “weed”!
Zendaya later took to social media to express her discontent over the remark saying how there is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful while further pointing out how someone said something about her hair at the Oscars that left her in awe. Zendaya went on to say how she was in awe not because she was relishing in rave outfit reviews, but because she was hit with ignorant slurs and pure disrespect.
Not only the actress herself but the host received major backlash from others as well. While Rancic soon apologised for her remarks, it was termed racist by many.
