The People’s Court, one of the original court shows, is going to be releasing its new episode soon. The show features everyday citizens (Plaintiff) who filed a claim against the defendants, and the judgment depends on the show’s judge, Marilyn Milian. Marilyn joined the show in 2001 and since then has been a continuous part of it for 21 Years.
It premiered for the first time in 1981-1993, but then the show was briefly canceled. It later was announced again in 1997. The first judge to ever host the show was Judge Joseph Wapner. Though only after Milian joined the show it gained much more attention, and people started liking the people’s court.
Between Judge Joseph Wapner and Judge Milian, there were two other lesser-known judges, Judge Ed Koch and Judge Jerry Sheindlin. The filming of the People’s Court at present is done in Stamford, Connecticut.
Season 26 of the show started airing on September 5th, 2022. With so many interesting and thought-provoking cases, this show will never bore you with a lack of drama and suspense as the case unfolds right in front of us.
The People’s Court: The OG Court show
The people’s court goes back way further than any other show of its genre. John Masterson had thought of the idea of introducing cameras into court shows to record and stream the whole hearing. When it first aired, it received much more attention than anticipated. Many other shows were directly or indirectly inspired by The people’s court.
The People’s Court now stands as an Emmy awards winner and is the second most watched court show currently, only after the show “Judge Judy”.
The way the hearing proceeds is quite simple and understandable. The Plaintiff (person who files the lawsuit), will blame the defendant (the person who has supposedly caused the case to happen) and sue for a particular amount that they feel is right. Suing for things such as Emotional suffering and Lost wages is also possible.
The plaintiffs don’t always win the case, though. Judge Milian makes sure to evaluate all the facts and evidence to arrive at a conclusion. Her Fun, Charming and straightforward personality has made the show much more lovable.
The series also consists of Host Harvey Levin and the humorous announcer Curt Chaplin. These are great additions to the show, and Levin’s journalism on the streets near the set also provides a public opinion on the subject of the current case.

The previous episode was released on Thursday, September 29th, 2022. It was Titled “Getting hostile over a Hostel”. The episode featured the Cases “Blowing a Birthday” and “An Online Onslaught”. Judge Milian keeps forward fair decisions on both the cases and Evaluates the Plaintiffs and Defendants well.
Sometimes people just lie and say things that never happened. Some get away with it, but most are caught lying by Judge Milian easily. The cases often provide wise words to not just the victims but also us, who can benefit from knowing how things work legally.
