The Betrayal is an ongoing Thai drama originally adapted from one of the famous British TV series of 2015, “Doctor Foster.” The Korean adaption of the series “The World of Married” released on 27 March 2020 was a huge success and received a positive response from fans globally.
The Thai remake of the drama is named “The Betrayal” released its first episode on 23 August, 2023. The story follows Jane who is a well-known doctor and a loving wife and mother too. Her life was going perfectly without any flaws until she found her husband Athin, cheating on her with a college student. As Jane untangles her husband’s true face, she loses her temper, leading to harming herself and shattering her own family.
The Betrayal Episode 2: Recap (Spoilers)
The last episode opens up with Jane being suspicious about his husband when she finds long grey hair on his coat. She promises Toei to give her sleeping pills until she looks into whom her husband meets and the car is parked near his office.
The next day, Toei calls Jane to meet up a she finds something off. Jane gives her the promised medicines as per the deal. Toei reveals to Jane that the car she asked about originally belonged to Mintra. Jane recalls that she talked with her recently. Toei tells her to check her husband’s car’s trunk if she wants to know the truth. Confused and frustrated Jane arrives at the venue of her husband’s birthday celebration.
She takes Athin’s car keys, making an excuse for misplacing her earrings in the car. While Athin was busy attending to the guests, Jane took it as a chance to check his car. Jane searches everywhere but finds nothing. At last, she recalls what Toei told her and checks the trunk of the car again and this time she notices a mat in the car trunk, beneath which a black bag was hidden.
Jane was not only betrayed by her husband but also by all of her friends. Everyone was aware of his mistress, and everyone went on a trip together to Japan, giving her an excuse for a Business trip. Jane wipes her tears and acts cool in the party. But her inner peace and happiness were already destroyed.
The episode ends with Jane deciding to wait for her husband to admit his fault on his own and act as if she doesn’t know about his mistress. On the other hand, Kate visits the doctor just to know that she is pregnant.
