In the eight million-person city of New York, 55-year-old landlord Bruce Blackwood vanished on March 6, 2006, leaving no trace. Bruce Blackwood attempted to evict Luis Perez from his 983 Hancock Street apartment on the same day that he confronted him about stealing $7,700 from him. The NYPD and Bruce’s brother Ed spent the following nine years looking for information and the murderer even though there was nobody. Perez was detained in 2014 on suspicion of killing and mutilating Blackwood. He received a sentence of 25 years to life in prison after being found guilty of murder.
