The late actor Cole Brings Plenty, known for his role in 1923, received a touching tribute during the show’s Season 2 premiere. Brings Plenty, who portrayed Pete Plenty Clouds, tragically passed away in April 2024.
The premiere included a sepia-toned slideshow featuring snapshots and clips of Brings Plenty as Pete. The tribute ended with a simple but powerful message: “In memoriam Cole Brings Plenty.”
His uncle, Mo Brings Plenty, a well-known actor from Yellowstone, turned to social media for help after Cole went missing. The family became deeply concerned when Cole did not show up for an important meeting with his agent. His disappearance was described as unusual, and they immediately contacted law enforcement to report their fears.
After his body was found, Cole’s father, Joe Brings Plenty Sr., expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support. He shared a heartfelt message, saying:
“During this incredibly difficult time, we ask for privacy as we process our grief and figure out how we move forward. Please know we appreciate you and appreciate your understanding.”
Cole’s family has openly criticized the way law enforcement handled the investigation. During the Red Nation Film Festival in November, Joe Brings Plenty Sr. called for a “full” and “fair investigation.” The family believes authorities did not do enough to find answers about what really happened.
Mo Brings Plenty also used his social media to raise awareness, and his post was shared by Yellowstone star Cole Hauser. Hauser, who has over two million followers, amplified the search efforts by posting a missing person alert. He urged anyone with information to step forward and assist in locating Cole.
Concerns about Cole’s disappearance grew quickly. His family became alarmed when he failed to attend a scheduled meeting regarding a new TV role. The Instagram post that first announced his disappearance mentioned that such behavior was “uncharacteristic for him.” Many feared that something serious had happened.
Authorities later identified Cole as a suspect in a reported domestic violence incident. Despite this, Mo Brings Plenty insisted that his nephew was not trying to escape. The family continues to seek clarity about the events leading up to his passing.
