In this article, we will discuss the top 15 Smartest Characters of Dr. Stone. Unlike most other anime, Dr. Stone isn’t a show about strong and muscular characters. Rather, it is a show revolving around how even the toughest muscles can be overcome by the smartest brains. Be it starting civilization from scratch or building a rocket all the way to the moon, anything and everything is possible when you have the power of science with you. For example, Tsukasa tried building a society based on sheer strength and willpower.
Despite comprising of the strongest warriors, it fell with Senku’s invention of plastic explosives. Even in the stone world, the supremacy of science hasn’t changed a bit. Here we have brought together the 15 smartest brains among all the Dr. Stone characters. You must think twice before challenging them in a game of wit. Each of them has the potential to turn the tables within minutes. (The article may comprise major spoilers from manga, so please read accordingly).
15. Kohaku
Despite being one of the main members of Senku’s battle team, she is quite smart compared to others. Even before he knew anything about science, she kept treating her sister, Ruri, with hot spring water. It helped a lot in suppressing her illness.
Moreover, Kohaku understands people well and doesn’t waste any time picking up their intention. For example, she was always suspicious about Hyoga even after the Stone wars. Later, he went on to revolt against Tsukasa and blew up the revival fluid cave.
14. Ukyo Saionji
Ukyo is currently one of the five wise generals of the Kingdom of Science, and why won’t he be? He is smart, good at gathering information, and most importantly, a flag bearer of nonviolence. The first rule of Denku’s science squad was to avoid violence at all costs, making Ukyo the perfect team leader.
Initially, he was one of the main members of Tsukasa’s squad. He tried to overlook the statue breakings as something that couldn’t be avoided. However, seeing the power of science, he decided to side with Senku. He even helped to free Chrome from confinement by handing him the battery.
13. Homura Momiji
Before humanity got petrified that fateful day, Homura was one of Japan’s best gymnasts. Her skills helped her a lot in surviving in the stone world covered with nothing but tress. She can relentlessly leap from one tree to another in a way that not even monkeys can compete with him. Tsukasa and Hyoga valued her for her unrivaled spying skills. She was in charge of keeping an eye on the Ishigami village to forecast any upcoming danger.
She is extremely loyal to Hyoga and can go the extra mile for his sake. In season 2, Senku tried to track her through fluorescent particles, but she soon figured that out. This proves that she is quite good at her reasoning skills and can make the right decisions quickly.
12. Shishio Tsukasa
I know you must be expecting this name a lot higher in the list. But sadly, I didn’t find much reason to put him any higher. He is more brawn than brains. He had the crazy idea of building a society solely with the fittest teenagers without having a background check on them. While trying to eradicate evil, he became one.
Well, things changed ever since he accepted defeat in the Stone Wars. Reviving his sister was the final push he needed to join hands with Senku. He is quite good at making battle strategies and is currently leading the battle team as they explore around the world.

11. Kaseki
From pyrex glass apparatus to huge hydroelectric generators, Kaseki is the skilled craftsman behind 80% of the inventions. It started with Kaseki working on the designs given to him by Senku. He soon found interest in his work and started exploring himself. Even at the final stage of his life, the fire of enthusiasm burning within him is still young. Like all other members of the science squad, he, too, desires to change the world.
Along with Joel, Kaseki solved the mystery behind the medusa device. Without them, Senku would never have acquired a working medusa ever. Thanks to this invention, Senku turned the world into stone again when they were on the verge of losing against Xeno. He is one of the smartest Dr. Stone characters.
10. Suika
Suika has always been a fan-favorite character. She may not be very confident with science, but she is a quick learner. She has proven herself useful again and again with her surveying skills. She can infiltrate the enemy territory without getting noticed and bring invaluable intel.
However, I doubt if she can do her detective work any longer. Those who follow the manga know that she isn’t a child anymore. She worked for 7 long years to perfect the fluid revival formula from scratch while everyone else remained petrified. Grown-up Suika is smarter than most other characters and is currently working with Chrome and Sai to build a return vessel for their space missions.
9. Hyoga
‘Cunning and unpredictable.’ Yes, that’s the perfect phrase to define Hyoga, the traitor. Although he joined hands with Senku now and has even risked his life for them, there’s no way of confirming whose side he really is on. His battle experience is almost on par with Tsukasa, and his lack of conscience makes him dangerous.
He had his own plans for the stone world, and Tsukasa didn’t have the slightest clue about it. He didn’t hesitate the slightest before backstabbing Tsukasa and almost killing him. I don’t know how Senku could trust him again after what he did.
8. Gen Asagiri
Gen is a famous mentalist who can see through anyone and everyone. The Science Kingdom won so many battles just because Gen manipulated the people correctly. From turning Tsukasa’s people against him to negotiating with Xeno, Gen has a huge contribution to the Kingdom of Science’s success you see today.
If lying is an art, Gen is undoubted the Picasso of it. His understanding of the human mind helps him to predict anyone precisely. Moreover, his calm and callous approach towards any problem is another aspect that sets him apart.
7. Chrome
Chrome is that weird guy of Ishigami village who roams around searching for unique rocks and herbs. He has been practicing science in the name of sorcery even before Senku’s emergence. His science starts with collecting stuff around him, and he never fails to come up with a solution. He managed to escape from Tsukasa’s custody by faking his terminal illness.
Thanks to Chrome, the Kingdom of Science could generate hydroelectricity. With time, Chrome became more and more polished with his science practices. He went as far as building a return vessel for the Moon mission with Suika by his side.
6. Stanley
Stanley Snyder is an ex-military officer who has dedicated his loyalty towards Dr. Xeno. Even with all the anti-tracking or stealth technology, Senku and his crew couldn’t escape from Stanley. He did everything to make Senku’s life a living hell. He shot the two best warriors of the science team, thereby nullifying their chances of fighting back.
He confronted the science users before the medusa tower and almost killed everyone. Senku had no other option but to turn the world back to stone, hoping that Suika would save everyone.
5. Chelsea Childe
Geography is her subject her expertise subject, and he can guide anyone to any part of the world even after thousands of years of tectonic movements. Yes, I am talking about the prodigy geographer of Japan, Chelsea Childe. She came across Senku’s crew while she was spending a solitary life in the forest of Amazon.
Ever since she joined the team, traveling around has become a lot easier. She comes up with shortcut routes that save days of labor and fuel. She e3ven played an important role in collecting resources from all over the world for their Moon mission.

4. Sai Nanami
Sai is the son of the popular industrialist who owned the Nanami Conglomerate and Ryusui’s brother. He is completely different from his brother and is a timid and self-conscious person. He can spend hours on his laptop without bothering anyone. His mathematics skill is said to be a million times that of any ordinary person.
Well, we have computers to pull of complex equations of Sai’s mathematics skills aren’t that useful an asset. What makes him so special is his compatibility with coding language. He can develop anything, even a virtual world, inside the most basic systems. His coding skill is the push that Kingdom needed to establish a science-based world. No wonder he is one of the smartest characters of Dr. Stone.
3. The Space Crew (Shamil, Darya, Byakuya, Yakov, And Connie)
By ‘space crew,’ I am referring to the group of scientists who were out in a space mission when the entire humanity got petrified. He landed back on earth and formed their own residents. They kept the human race alive, and the Ishigami village you see today is their descendants.
Since all of them passed the test of the astronaut, they must be smarter than most other revived humans. Even without the minimum resources, they left voice recordings that lasted even after 3000 years. Come on, what else do you expect from the greatest scientist of Japan.
2. Dr. Xeno
Xeno Houston Wingfield, the anime-only fans may not be familiar with the name, but those who have read the manga know why he is so high up on the list. He is another one of Senku’s uneasy allies and is currently one of the leading scientists in the Moon mission. He is designing the engine that will take them to the moon.
However, things weren’t always like this. Xeno was the main antagonist of the New America City arc and went closest to defeating Senku. If it wasn’t for Senku’s last-minute petrification plan, the Stone World would have been under Xeno’s control. He is undoubtedly better than Senku in rocket science and interplanetary calculations.
1. Senku Ishigami
Seeing his name at the top isn’t even a surprise for most of us, right? Who else would have dreamt of establishing a new world right from scratch? He didn’t lose track of time for 3000 long years, and I doubt how many else in this list could have done this.
Senku devised the revival fluid all by himself and became humanity’s solitary hope to take them back to their peak days. He firmly believes that there’s no problem in the universe that science cannot solve. He went against capable opponents like Tsukasa, Hyoga, and Hyo just to see his dream come true someday. Right now, he is busy exploring the mystery behind the petrification beam that doesn’t want humanity to exist. He believes that a space voyage to the Moon will give him all the answers.
