We saw how Absalom was on the verge of killing Philo. And he would have actually done that if it were not for his son who told the man that he did not Aisling. In a deal, Absalom promised that he is going to let Vignette go but it all came crashing down when he got killed instead by Quill who came near him disguised as someone else.
By the end of the season, after there were a lot of wars, we saw that Argeus and Imogen have taken the ship in order to find a new place for them to live. There are a lot of uprisings in the Burgue and thus, this was when Jonah decided to establish a ghetto for himself and stand up as the Chancellor which we soon see in the second season.
He also forbids the previous duo from going out of the Burgue at all costs and even talking with humans where Fleury is in danger. She gets shot when she was trying to fly away from Tetterby Hotel and it was quite grave to hear about it. Philo finally decides to take charge of his actions and joins Vignette along with the other fae in the ghetto after embracing his own reality and identity.
Carnival Row Season 2 Recap
With the start of season 2 of the series, we are seeing a considerable amount of developments in the story of our characters. The foremost issue which has been troublesome is that Criych in Burgue has been badly affected by an illness yet no political leaders or the people in power are even batting an eye over the same issue as if it were invisible.
Jonah, who has now come into power and using it fully, has taken advantage of the same in order to punish the Pucks for the murder of his parents. We see that the Pact Ambassador is being welcomed in the Burgue as per Jonah’s commands. He is still in the clutches of Sophie who is devising a plan for both parties.
As for them, the two sides want to everyone about their bond and the alliance which they have formed. In order to strengthen their forces and signify friendship, the Pact requests ammunition from the Burgue. Turns out it is not just for mere show but they actually need the same in order to curb the rising of a new revolution called New Dawn.
Sophie was actually the whole brains behind the operation and subtly infected the mind of Jonah. She advised him to give them the ammunition they require and while the group is busy dealing with the revolution, it will give Burgue a chance to take over Tirnanoc.
Other than that, we saw that Darius and Philo have finally met after a long time since the former was in jail. He is also quite mad at Philo for leaving him behind bars. Although, Philo is currently doing everything in his power to get his friend out of the same.
