This is a PSA to Gen-X, Millennials, and members of the Gen-Z community who swear they were born in the wrong generation. One of your favorite rock bands is spreading its wings one last time to bid adieu to its fans all across the globe! The living legends, the icons, the epic rock band Eagles have soared high and far for more than five decades, and well, they have decided it is time to give it a rest.
You don’t need to be a rock n’ roll or hard rock enthusiast to have heard Eagles’ music. The everlasting effect of the beloved band is still felt globally to this day! There’s not a single soul alive from the 70s till now that has not yet been a listener of ‘Hotel California’ and ‘Witchy Woman.’
The band began with Linda Ronstadt recruiting members Glenn Frey for guitar and vocals, Don Henley for drums and vocals, Bernie Leadon for guitars and vocals, and Randy Meisner for bass guitar and vocals to form the Eagles back in 1971.
They released their debut album in 1972 titled ‘Eagles,’ and wouldn’t you know it, it had two of what is now their most popular tracks on it. The tracks were “Take It Easy” and “Witchy Woman.” One among the many huge names on Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time”, the Eagles are more than just a sensational band from the 70s! Their music is timeless, appealing to the masses from all generations.
Six-time Grammy Award winners, the band has a stellar discography with several hits like “One of These Nights,” “Life in the Fast Line,” “Take it Easy,” and countless more. Like everything else that’s extraordinary in life, the Eagles, unfortunately, also have to bid farewell one day. Except, they decided to do it through a grand tour! Seems like quite a long goodbye, right? Well, it is. It’s even named “The Long Goodbye” farewell tour. Keep scrolling for more details on what seems to be the saddest tour in a while.

The Eagles put out a statement that drove many to tears, reminiscing the five decades’ worth of glorious memories they made with their ever-expanding fanbase. They started by saying that they have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe, keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals, and setbacks of many kinds.
They then expressed their gratitude to their management team, road crew, and exceptional backup musicians for providing skilled and steadfast support throughout these many years.
They stated that their long run had lasted far longer than any of them had ever dreamed. They, however, said that everything has its time and that the time had come for them to close the circle.

Following this introduction and words of gratitude, they dropped the news that there is an official farewell tour coming and that it is in its planning stages!
They let us know that they want to give all their fans a chance to see them in the upcoming final round. They let fans know that the scheduling information would be released as soon as dates are set.
They put out a cautionary statement in between, saying that difficulties of booking venues for multiple nights may require them to return to certain cities, depending according to the magnitude of the ticket demand.
Nevertheless, they expressed their hope to see as many of their fans as they can before they finish their work in the music industry. Towards the end, they said, “Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music.”
They humbly admitted that, at the end of the day, the fans are the reason the band has been able to carry on for over five decades. They closed with a strong ending statement “This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.” Who wouldn’t shed a few tears at these words?
Even though this is their last tour, this is the one fans are most excited for! Because this time, the band is going on purely for the fans. They are set to tour as many cities and play as many shows as their fans demand.
Now, if you thought this tour was simply going to be an Eagles-only zone, you’re wrong! The band is going to be joined on tour by the famed American band Steely Dan, one of the greatest duos of all time. That’s not all! Deacon Frey, son of Glenn Frey, is back performing with the band for the tour after leaving them last year to forge his own path.
So, the tour is undoubtedly going to be a long one. A really, really long goodbye tour at that. Maybe even longer than the Eagles think! The presale for the tickets begins on July 12th. However, general sales only begin on July 14th at 10 a.m. local time.
