Sam Raimi and Deborah Liebling produce the film under Colombia Pictures Brond Creative in partnership with TSG Entertainment. The film premiered on March 10, 2023, with a run time of 93 minutes.
As the film was science fiction, it received a mixed response from the audience leaning towards positive reviews. The film has an IMBD rating of 5.5/10 from the audience.

The film did average at the box office, but the viewers felt the movie didn’t make much sense. The VFXs used in the film are worth a watch, but the story of the film didn’t come out as a shocker or something one should give time to.

Premise Of Film- 65

The plot of the film is interesting for those interested in scientific accuracy. The film follows pilot Mills, living on planet Solaris, with his family, a wife, and an ill daughter. Planet Somaris is technologically advanced, and Mills asks Alya’s permission to take a two-year space expedition to earn money for their daughter’s treatment.

As Mills is taking the journey back to Somaris, Zoic, his spaceship gets hit by a mass of asteroids, and the spaceship splits in half, killing other passengers traveling with Mills. The lone survivor on the uncharted planet is a young girl named Koa, who is why Mills continues to fight for survival. The unnamed planet gets revealed to be Earth in the Cretaceous period that is 65 years before the extinction of dinosaurs. Mills and Koa have difficulty communicating with each other as the translator gets destroyed in the accident.

Mills takes care of Koa as she reminds him of his little girl. As the duo tries to survive, several dinosaurs attack them, separating them. At the same time, Mills discovers Zoic contains a functioning escape shuttle, and he uses it to send a distress signal. The duo reunites with each other after going through several hardships, and Koa discovers videos of Mills’ daughter on his phone. It gets revealed Mill’s daughter died when he was on the expedition.

Koa also learns Mills lied to her, and her parents died in the accident. The film continues as the pair discovers that a massive asteroid will hit the Earth in less than 12 hours. The film ends with the duo narrowly escaping death, and the end credits revealing the aftermath of the asteroid hitting Earth.

65 Filming Locations-

The movie’s filming was expected to start on November 16, 2020, but got delayed and started by December 7, 2020, in New Orleans. The film wrapped up on February 21, 2021. The primary filming location of the film was Oregon and Kisatchie National Forest, located in Vernon.

1. Kisatchie National Forest

The production team used Kisatchie National Forest in Louisiana to film several pivotal scenes. The crew selected the location as the area had just gone through Hurricane Laura and was perfect for shooting the scenes after the asteroid destroyed the ship with its broken trees.

The location didn’t require much digital editing as it had what the director and producer wanted in the scenes. The film’s ending scenes were filmed here after the Earth gets destroyed. The National Forest is the only one located in Louisiana.

2. Oregon

Oregon is a beautiful state located in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S.A. The crew selected the state as the primary location to shoot some of the beautiful scenes of the film. The prime film’s prime locations involve Gold Beach and Coos Bay.

Gold Beach

Gold Beach is a beautiful city located in Oregon, U.S.A., and the county seat of Curry Country. The beach is an attractive coastal destination often used as a filming location. The beaches are not crowded but are open for tourists to visit. The beach got named after a beach near the mouth of Rouge River where there are 100s of mines to extract gold from.

Coos Bay

Coos Bay is a city full of beautiful landscapes located in Coos County, Oregon, selected by the crew to film some scenes of the movie. The film also features Coos Bay and Elk Creek Falls locals, located in the South of Coos Bay, which served as the sci-fi film’s key location. The location was selected for the large beautiful trees surrounding the area.

3. Sony Picture Studios

The Sony Pictures Studios, located at 10202 in Washington, California selected by the crew to shoot the indoor scenes of the film. The Studio has 18 different sound stages that range in size and are versatile enough to enhance several scenes. The second shot here required digital editing to make it appear authentic.

Some of the other primary locations used to shoot some of the film’s scenes include Vernon Parish in Louisiana, Covington in Louisiana, Ardmore Studios, and Seconde Line Stages. The film gave various scenes using the beautiful landscapes in Orleans and surrounding areas.
