HoYoverse’s Zenless Zone Zero has crossed a major financial milestone, generating more than $600 million in mobile player spending during its first two years on the market.
The action RPG launched globally on July 4, 2024, and has become one of the publisher’s biggest commercial successes, although its mobile earnings remain well behind those of Genshin Impact.
According to estimates from AppMagic, Zenless Zone Zero generated approximately $603.9 million across the App Store and Google Play in its first two years. Since the game is also available on PC, PlayStation 5, and HoYoverse’s own web shop, its total revenue is expected to be considerably higher than mobile estimates alone.
Japan leads spending as annual revenue declines
One of the report’s most notable findings is that Japan has become the game’s largest mobile market, accounting for 42% of lifetime player spending. China follows with 27%, while the United States contributes 10%. This differs from HoYoverse’s previous titles, including Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, where China has consistently been the top revenue-generating region.
Despite surpassing the $600 million mark, the game’s second year showed a significant slowdown. Mobile player spending dropped 51% year over year, falling to approximately $198.9 million during its second 12 months. Even so, the title continues to generate healthy monthly revenue, earning around $11.8 million in June 2026 alone.
Version 3.0 anniversary update boosted player spending

HoYoverse celebrated the game’s second anniversary by releasing Version 3.0 on June 17, introducing a new story chapter set in the floating island of Roscaelifer, a new Wind attribute, limited-time events, anniversary rewards, and character banners featuring Velina alongside the returning Ye Shunguang.
The update had an immediate impact on player spending. According to AppMagic estimates, daily mobile revenue increased 217%, reaching $1.7 million after the update launched. However, that figure remained below the game’s all-time daily revenue record of $10.7 million, achieved during the release of Version 2.5 on December 30, 2025.
Although Zenless Zone Zero ranks among the most successful mobile launches of 2024, it still trails HoYoverse’s flagship titles. The report notes that its two-year mobile revenue represents only 17% of Genshin Impact’s estimated $3.6 billion during the same period.
However, the game has comfortably outperformed Honkai Impact 3rd, earning 87% more than that title managed during its first two years on mobile. With Version 3.1 expected to reveal additional story developments and new content, HoYoverse will be hoping future updates help maintain player engagement as the game enters its third year.
