Nintendo Switch 2 owners may have another major Ubisoft release to look forward to. Fresh speculation suggests that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced could be heading to Nintendo’s latest console after a well-known Nintendo insider hinted at a possible announcement on social media.
While Ubisoft has yet to confirm anything officially, the tease has sparked excitement among fans who were disappointed when the remake launched without a Switch 2 version.
The remake, which reimagines the beloved 2013 pirate adventure starring Edward Kenway, debuted earlier this month on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It has already become one of Ubisoft’s biggest releases of 2026, making a Nintendo port seem increasingly plausible.
According to Ubisoft, the game sold over two million copies on its first day and earned strong critical reception, including an 84 Metacritic score.

The latest speculation comes from Nintendo insider Reece Reilly, who posted the “eyes” emoji alongside an image of what appeared to be an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Nintendo Switch 2 game box on X. Although Reilly did not provide any additional details, many fans interpreted the post as a tease that a Switch 2 version is in development.
Ubisoft has not commented on the rumor, but the company has strongly supported Nintendo Switch 2 with several recent releases. That existing relationship has led many players to believe the pirate adventure could eventually make its way to the platform, even if it missed the original July launch window. The original Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag launched on the Wii U in 2013, giving Ubisoft an established history of bringing Edward Kenway’s adventure to Nintendo platforms.
