Zenless Zone Zero Lead Artist Leaves HoYoverse to Develop Farming Sim Passion Project

Zenless Zone Zero lead artist Atwo_A2 has announced their departure from miHoYo after working on the action RPG since its early development. The artist was responsible for the designs of several playable characters, including Thirens such as Von Lycaon, Ellen Joe, and Hoshimi Miyabi, along with Intelligent Constructs like Billy Kid and Banyue.

According to Atwo_A2’s announcement on Bilibili, they have now completed the handover of their work and are focusing on an unannounced farming simulation game.

Reflecting on their time with Zenless Zone Zero, Atwo_A2 recalled joining the project six years ago when its development team had just over 20 people. With the game now approaching its second anniversary, the artist described it as

“an incredibly impressive product.”

The next project, however, is a much more personal one. Atwo_A2 has been a longtime fan of farming simulations since playing Harvest Moon as a student, and the idea of creating a game in the genre has been in development for almost two decades.

Zenless Zone Zero producer Li Zhenyu encouraged Atwo_A2 to pursue the idea independently. The artist is now seeking developers who share a passion for farming simulations to help bring the new game to life.
