In order to increase the return of its series, CBS hopes to capitalize on the viewership of the big NFL games that are coming up over the next few weeks.
In the NFL Wild Card game and the Divisional playoffs that follow, CBS intends to release behind-the-scenes images and quotes from its stars. This is a calculated move to bring back scripted series that have been delayed due to writer and actor strikes before the network’s Premiere Week, which starts after Super Bowl LVIII.
On January 14, prior to CBS’ Wild Card game, a number of highlighted shows will be aired. These include Young Sheldon, FBI, FBI: International, Blue Bloods, Fire Country, Ghosts, The Neighborhood, and the soon-to-be-launched Tracker.
After that, Bob Hearts Abishola, CSI: Vegas, The Equalizer, FBI: Most Wanted, NCIS, NCIS: Hawai’i, So Help Me Todd, and S.W.A.T. will get their sneak peeks on January 20 or 21, depending on how the weekend plays out.
CBS Premiere Week Sneak-Ends
The next two weekends are being referred to by CBS as “CBS Premiere Week Sneak-Ends.”
Famous people will be delivering messages to the audience during these events, including Max Greenfield from The Neighborhood, Justin Hartley from Tracker, Iain Armitage from Young Sheldon, Vanessa Lachey, LL Cool J, and Gary Cole from NCIS: Hawaii, as well as Max Greenfield from The Equalizer, Max Greenfield from The Neighborhood, and Cedric the Entertainer.
The Neighborhood and Young Sheldon, which is ending this season, are among the popular CBS scripted series that are returning.
Their new seasons will begin the week of February 12. With a few exceptions, like Young Sheldon, which will air 14 or 15 episodes, these seasons will consist of 10–13 episodes that air from February to May in response to the impact of strikes. For example, CSI: Vegas and The Neighborhood are slated for ten episodes each, while the FBI series will have thirteen episodes.

A ‘Young Sheldon’ spinoff centered on Georgie and Mandy is getting a series order from CBS.
Even though “Young Sheldon” is coming to an end this season, there may be a new spinoff at CBS that will carry on the franchise. The network, working with Warner Bros Television and executive producers Steve Holland, Steven Molaro, and Chuck Lorre, is reportedly close to obtaining a straight-to-series order for a multi-camera spinoff.
The characters Georgie Cooper and Mandy McAllister, played by Montana Jordan and Emily Osment on “Young Sheldon,” will be the main subjects of this upcoming series.
Both actors are anticipated to return to their roles in the spinoff despite the fact that contracts with Jordan and Osment are still being negotiated. It is probable that a 13-episode order for the new series will be given for the 2024–2025 season. Representatives from WBTV and CBS have so far declined to comment on the situation.
Playing Sheldon’s older brother, George Marshall “Georgie” Cooper Jr., Montana Jordan has been a series regular on “Young Sheldon” from the start. The spinoff will center on Georgie and his fiancée, Mandy, emphasizing their relationship dynamics and journey.
The story will continue where it left off in Season 5 of “Young Sheldon,” when Georgie leaves school to work at Meemaw’s laundry, which is how he met Mandy.
The plot takes a surprising turn when it comes to Mandy, who was 29 at the time, thinking Georgie was 21 when, in fact, he was only 17. In spite of the first lie, the characters overcome obstacles and progressively regain each other’s trust, which leads to their engagement in the Season 6 finale.
The upcoming spinoff of “Young Sheldon” is distinct from another spinoff centered on Max from “The Big Bang Theory,” as recently mentioned by creator Chuck Lorre, which is still in the early conceptual stages. Furthermore, the comedy series “Bookie” on the Warner Bros.
Discovery streaming platform has been renewed for a second season, with Chuck Lorre serving as executive producer and co-creator. Notably, Lorre has spent the last 25 years working with Warner Bros. Television, which produces all of his shows.
