Season 3 of Yellowjackets has been slower compared to the first two seasons. Although many things have happened, the story has moved at a slower pace. However, Episode 6, titled “Thanksgiving (Canada),” changes everything. The first five episodes were interesting and full of suspense, but something felt missing.
This episode fills that gap by focusing on every character, storyline, and mystery. It brings back familiar faces, reveals shocking secrets, and ends with one of the biggest surprises of the season.

Shauna and Jeff Confront a Dangerous Truth
Episode 6 begins right where Episode 5 ended. Jeff (Warren Kole) stays up late, waiting for Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) to return after spending the day investigating with Walter (Elijah Wood). Jeff does not know that Lottie (Simone Kessell) has died, so Shauna has to tell him.
She also shares her suspicion that Lottie was murdered. She believes this because, in her words, “disgraced cult members don’t just fall down the stairs and die.”
While Jeff and Shauna talk, their daughter Callie (Sarah Desjardins) overhears them. She is deeply disturbed after learning that Lottie is dead. This moment connects back to the season’s first episode when Callie found a mysterious cassette that was delivered to Shauna.
She gives the cassette to her parents, saying she hasn’t listened to it but feels it might be connected to Lottie’s death. Shauna instantly becomes alarmed. Someone is targeting her—first by tampering with her van’s brakes, then by messing with the freezer, and now by sending this cassette.
The Sadeckis decide to leave their home for safety and check into a hotel called the Jolly Hitcher. While settling in, Jeff asks Shauna if this situation is as bad as the things she wrote in her old journals. Shauna has not yet listened to the cassette, so she doesn’t know. Jeff insists that whatever is on it, it cannot be good.
He also reminds her that the person targeting her knows where they live. Shauna promises Jeff that she will protect him and Callie. Then, she pretends to feel dizzy from hunger to get Jeff out of the room. Once alone, she calls Van (Lauren Ambrose), who is at a different hotel, enjoying a massage with Taissa (Tawny Cypress).
Van has a way to play the cassette, which turns out to be a DAT tape. She tells Shauna that she owns a DAT player but will need time to find it. Shauna, feeling the urgency of the situation, asks Van to locate it as soon as possible.
The DAT Tape Holds a Disturbing Secret
Van eventually finds the player and meets with Taissa and Shauna at the Jolly Hitcher. They play the tape inside a car and hear a short but disturbing clip. It features the girls screaming wildly, similar to when they hunted in the wilderness for a human sacrifice.
No one knows where the recording came from. Van states that only people who were part of the group or those who are dead could know about it. They have already ruled out Misty (Christina Ricci) as a suspect.
Before they can investigate further, Shauna finds Callie’s phone inside her purse. She realizes that Callie secretly recorded their conversation. Shauna deletes the recording and leaves Van and Taissa confused as she rushes back inside.

Shauna scolds Callie for recording them, but Callie argues that she has the right to know what dangers they are facing. Shauna disagrees, saying Callie is still a child. Callie then reminds her that she is the same age Shauna was when she was stranded in the wilderness.
This comment hits Shauna hard, and she sends Callie away. Unbeknownst to Shauna, Callie later retrieves the deleted voice memo, meaning she still has access to the conversation.
Taissa Struggles With Her Identity
Taissa has been acting strangely throughout the season, and in this episode, things reach a breaking point. After her phone call with Shauna, Van notices that Taissa has ordered an expensive room service meal, including lobster. Van becomes frustrated and reminds her that Shauna is in distress and Lottie is dead, yet Taissa is focused on self-care.
Taissa confesses that she feels lost. She has lost her family, her political career, and her closest friends. Her true love is also battling cancer, and she feels powerless to change anything. She explains that she just wants to feel good in the moment. Van understands but insists that they need to help Shauna.
When Van and Taissa search through old belongings, Van finds the DAT player. However, the moment she picks it up, the lights flicker, and an old phone inside the box starts ringing. Van, now frightened, answers it. The voice on the other end is distorted but familiar—it’s Taissa, calling for help.
Just then, the real Taissa enters the basement. Van is shocked and scared. Later, Taissa wakes up in bed in a panic, gasping for air. She begs Van to help her, but then, within seconds, she relaxes and acts as if nothing happened. Van realizes that “Other Tai” has taken over once again.
Misty Finds an Unexpected Lead
Walter apologizes to Misty for competing with her in the previous episode. As a peace offering, he gives her Lottie’s trash, hoping she can find something useful. Misty discovers takeout containers from Bamboo Café, a strange choice for Lottie, given its terrible health rating and lack of vegetarian options.
When Misty visits the restaurant, she spots Lisa (Nicole Maines), a former cult member, making deliveries. Lisa is terrified of Misty, knowing that the syringe that killed Natalie was originally meant for her. Misty accuses Lisa of murdering Lottie, but Lisa denies it.
She tells Misty that Lottie gave her a $50,000 tip with a note that said, “I’m sorry.” Lisa also reveals that Taissa met with Lottie right before her death. Misty does not believe her, but Lisa insists that she saw them together outside the restaurant.
Coach Scott’s Tragic End
Coach Scott (Steven Krueger) is in terrible condition after having his Achilles tendon cut. The group keeps him in an animal pen, believing that he might be their key to survival. However, he sees no future for himself.
He begs Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) to kill him or give him a weapon to end his suffering. She refuses, but he continues pleading, even admitting that he burned down the cabin.
Coach eventually stops eating, forcing the group to take drastic action. Misty and others force-feed him by shoving a tube down his throat. Later, Natalie takes matters into her own hands.
She approaches Coach with a knife. He understands her intention and simply says, “Please.” She struggles, but in the end, she grants his wish, ending his suffering.
A Shocking Ending Hints at Salvation
The next morning, Natalie steps out, her hands covered in blood. The group reacts with shock and anger. Misty calls her a murderer, while others argue about what to do next.
Lottie suggests that Shauna should become the group’s leader. Shauna makes a decision: they will honor Coach Scott with a feast and give the wilderness what it wants. Natalie, as punishment, must prepare the meal.
That night, the group eats their feast, but Lottie feels uneasy. Suddenly, she hears whispers and laughter. She screams, and the sound grows louder. Just then, strangers appear at the edge of camp. The team freezes. The newcomers see Coach Scott’s head on the table and react with horror. The episode ends with a question: Are these people their saviors, or is another nightmare about to begin?
What’s Next for the Yellowjackets?
Episode 6 leaves us with many unanswered questions. Who sent the DAT tape? What does it mean? And who are the mysterious strangers who appeared at the end? These questions will likely shape the next episodes, adding even more suspense and intrigue.

Shauna’s situation with Callie also presents a big challenge. Callie now holds a secret recording that could expose everything. Will she use it against her mother? Or will she keep it hidden? Shauna has worked hard to protect her family, but this new twist could put everything at risk.
Taissa’s ongoing struggle with her identity also raises concerns. Her alter ego, “Other Tai,” seems to be getting stronger. The phone call Van received hints that something supernatural may be happening. Could Taissa be the key to uncovering the truth about the wilderness?
Misty’s discovery about Lisa and Lottie’s last moments also changes things. If Lisa is telling the truth, then Taissa might know more about Lottie’s death than she admits. This means there could be another traitor among the group.
Finally, the biggest question remains: who are the people that arrived at the end of the episode? Are they potential rescuers, or do they pose an even greater threat?
With only a few episodes left in Yellowjackets Season 3, fans can expect more shocking revelations and intense drama. If Episode 6 is any indication, the rest of the season will be unforgettable.
