Police decided to keep him safe in a hotel room until the wound gets healed, but Ben Thompson ran towards Bat Masterson for his help to assist Billy from sheriff’s custody.
Bat Masterson decided to look into the matter and let Ben know that he would try his best to help Billy get out of custody. First, he went to the bartender and asked him about the compensation he wanted to receive for taking his complaint back. However, the bartender’s expectations were more that Bat knew that he could not fulfill. So he decided to get Billy out of the hotel illegally.
