Do you know why Sasha Banks left WWE? The professional wrestler is making headlines with her debut in NJPW. We mean the New Japan Pro Wrestling. However, she is majorly known for her ring name, Mercedes Mone. Yes, the name is changed too.

Sasha Banks was associated with WWE for a decade. To be more precise, it was from 2012 and 2022. So, why did she part ways from the mentioned wrestling promotion? Before getting into it, let’s look at Sasha Banks’ prominence in this field.

Originally known as Mercedes Justine Kaestner-Varnado, the wrestler was born on 26 January 1992, 30 years old. She hails from Fairfield, California.

Her association with WWE earned her several prestigious titles and accolades throughout her career. Sasha Banks has won a couple of Slammy Awards. She also made it to the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship thrice. To be more exact about it, she made it twice with Bailey and once with Naomi.

While wrestling against Bianca Belair, Sasha Banks made the record of Best Match of the Half-Year.  Coming back to Sasha Banks’ departure, the wrestler just walked out live during the WWE Raw broadcast. Fans were left in shock. But what was the reason behind her move?

Reason Behind Sasha Banks Leaving WWE Revealed

The major reason behind Sasha Banks leaving WWE was because of having creative differences with Vince McMahon. If you are wondering, he was then the chairman of WWE. Well, she was not the only one who left it before the main event. Along with her, Naomi also exited.

When Sasha Banks left WWE, several assumptions were made by people. It was also reported that she left it because of having issues with her salary. Talking more about it, Sasha reportedly didn’t return to WWE because she asked for a higher payment for the renewal of her contract.

On this note, it was reported that “she was asking for was a very high number for a WWE woman wrestler, but if you look at the amount of money that WWE takes in, she would still be underpaid.”

The last time when Sasha Banks appeared on the programming of WWE was back in May 2022.

Right after Sasha Bank left WWE, her name was stripped from its official website. It also took away her merchandise. Well, Sasha claimed that she was not respected as the tag team champion.

Because of the issues that lately raised between Sasha Banks and WWE, it seemed like it started a long time ago and was not new. She had a long tenure with this wrestling promotion. Some of her fans were very much disappointed with the news of Sasha Banks’ exit from WWE.

Despite leaving WWE after a disagreement, Sasha thanked through a series of posts on her official Twitter account. No, she didn’t explain anything further right then:

Thank you @TripleH

Before debuting with NJPW, Sasha Banks made uploaded a picture that said, “Don’t be afraid to start over again. Remember that this time, you’re not starting from scratch, you’re starting from experience.”

Through this post, Sasha Banks clearly showed that she was ready enough for her new journey. She was not regretful but ended terms with WWE on a good note. At least, it seemed like that. You should also know that Sasha’s association with NJPW was made without the approval of WWE.

Don’t worry! Sasha Banks has not and will not leave or stop pursuing her wrestling career. Earlier, Sasha also starred in the Disney+ show, The Mandalorian. So, we may expect her to get more opportunities in the entertainment world too.

Best Wishes to Sasha Bank for her new journey with NJPW. You may give Sasha a following on her Instagram account for more updates.
