The Mandalorian is a live-action Star Wars science-fiction series created by Jon Favreau for Disney+. Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire and before the rise of the First Order, the series follows Din Djarin, a Mandalorian bounty hunter whose life changes after he is assigned to protect Grogu, a mysterious Force-sensitive child. The series expanded the Star Wars universe beyond the Skywalker family while introducing new characters, planets and stories across the galaxy. The Mandalorian became the first live-action Star Wars television series and premiered alongside Disney+ in November 2019. Lucasfilm confirms Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni as the series’ creators.
