The Voice is a competition where the singers perform their live performances on the stage in front of the judges and the audience. Though last week, something totally strange happened on the Voice. Fans have been wondering why did Kique miss The Voice? Why was he not on the stage? What happened to Kique?
Kique, who is a part of Gwen Stefani’s group, was not able to perform on stage in person on 28th November 2022. Kique Gomes had to pre-record his performance for the week and had recently been saved to stay and continue his journey in the competition of The Voice this season, but what made Kique pre-record it?

Why Did Kique Miss The Voice?
Kique had recently tested positive for COVID-19. This had made him pre-record his performance, and he was not allowed on the building for the safety of others. Kique chose The Weeknd’s Call Out My Name for his performance for the week, which was exceptional and beautiful. Even the coaches were moved by his dedication to performing even though he wasn’t well.
John Legend said in his comments how Kique’s performance is not only impressive, but he makes the songs specific to himself and adds his element to them, which makes them more wonderful. His coach Gwen Stefani stated how she is proud to be his coach during Kique’s journey on the voice, and she is praying for him to get better and is voting for him. She also called his performance to be flawless this week.
Kique had joined the show virtually for a brief conversation and explained how he was under the weather but was still happy to be a part of the competition. He also stated that he believed that America would vote for him and that he missed the stage when he had to pre-record his set.
How Did Kique Feel Pre-Recording His Performance?
Kique is truly thankful to NBC for helping him in recording his performance and for allowing him to be a part of the competition still, and for allowing a virtual performance due to unforeseen circumstances.
Unfortunately, recording beforehand and not performing live was not a great experience for him. He also told how he had missed performing on the stage and he was stressed about recording. He had to record prior and had felt that he didn’t have enough time as much as he desired to have like other contestants.
The studio was a new experience for him with no crowd, no people, just him, the camera, and lights. This felt very unsettling and odd to him. He also stated how the energy from the crowd was the one thing he had missed the most while recording.
Tuesday’s Result Show
Kique joined in virtually on the result day as well and told about his challenges of recording. He also told Carson how this experience had made him stronger as an artist and had contributed to his overall growth.
The week’s challenges were wonderful and also pushed Kique to give his best, and he also told Carson how he realized that he had to work twice as hard as others. Kique is winning people’s hearts in The Voice as he received Instant Save, making him have it consecutively twice in a row. He believes he will keep on working this hard for his fans and going to try to gain instant week in the next as well.
The pre-recording performance for Tuesday’s episode was Leon Bridge’s River. He made his coach Gwen Stefani emotional with his truly wonderful performance.
Unfortunately, Kique did not receive his second Instant Save and will not be moving toward the Semi-Finals of The Voice for this season. Fans are disappointed, but Gwen stated how she truly believes in the artist and he will do great things in the future. She also stated how he is the very first artist who has truly blown her this season, and he believes that Kique will come up with a vision for whatever he desires to do with his talent.
