Reason Behind Alex Wagner Leaving MSNBC Revealed
As mentioned earlier, Alex Wagner joined The Atlantic as the senior editor. Well, this was the initial reason behind exiting MSNBC. As Alex left the channel, many of her fans wondered if she was struggling with her bad health. But relax! She is completely in a good state and is doing fine as of now. Alex Wagner joined The Atlantic not just as a writer but also helped in the development of some videos and television projects with the same.
It was in 2011 when she joined MSNBC as a contributor, hosting: “Now with Alex Wagner.” But it didn’t work as planned. Why? The show got canceled after a few years, probably in the mid of 2015. It was the network (MSNBC) itself that started pivoting its dayside strategy away from opinion programming.
In other words, MSNBC made efforts to shift its daytime programming as it wanted to focus and prioritize breaking news reporting more. Political commentaries were kept aside for that time. However, Alex was back then promised a weekend program. Guess what? It got abandoned. After Alex Wagner left MSNBC, she briefly worked for CBS’ “This Morning.” But, many years later, she again joined MSNBC as the guest anchor and senior political analyst.
Alex Wagner’s exit from MSNBC was very much understandable. It was the President of the network who made the choice and wanted to focus more on breaking news reporting. So, the journalist had to make her move and opt for another opportunity. Many fans got disappointed, but she was left with no other choice.
