Bleach’s final arc, titled The Thousand Year Blood War, sees the rampage of the Quincies on the Soul Society and the Shinigami as revenge against them. Yhwach was the King of the Quincies that was leading the Quincy for this cause, and it would have been possible if it wasn’t for Ichigo fighting against the said villain and without the help of the former infamous Sosuke Aizen.
Sosuke Aizen was the first and the major villain of the series before the final arc. His influence among the Shinigami was a terror as the character first appeared as nothing but a mere respected captain among the Soul Society.
At first glance, no one would assume the fact this character was a villain disguised as a weak character among the Shinigami; Sosuke Aizen had different and big plans that had been set in motion for decades, if not centuries.
The character faked his death to acquire the ultimate power that would help him overthrow the Soul Society and the Soul Ling and eventually rule over it. Sosuke Aizen’s ideology of getting this power was only because he deemed himself as too strong to be working under someone and had plans to get over everyone. This is the only reason that Sosuke Aizen had, as he created and manipulated many things for his own selfish desire.
But his plans eventually came to a close as we saw Ichigo finally defeating the overpowered Sosuke Aizen after acquiring the ultimate power. Aizen was fulfilled that he finally had someone strong enough to actually challenge him in a battle and get past all the illusions that he had created. He was imprisoned due to his own selfishness.
However, in the end, he never decides to side with the king of the Quincies, who had the same motives as him, and instead helps Ichigo to defeat Yhwach. Many wonder what is the exact reason for this possibility, and while everyone could come up with their answers for this probability, we also have our own reason, which we would like to discuss.
So with that being said, let us theorize about the fact that Sosuke Aizen decided to help Ichigo instead of Yhwach even though the latter had freed him and offered freedom while helping the former resulting in his imprisonment again. Here we bring you the latest theories for many amazing mangas and anime.
Why Did Aizen Help Ichigo Vs. Yhwach?
As mentioned earlier, the reason why Aizen decided to help Ichigo over his freedom and work for Yhwach has never been explained by the series. Thus, the reason for this occurrence could vary from different perspectives, and there are many theories around the internet for this particular reason.
One of them being accepted by many fans in the wild is the fact that Aizen is a prideful Shinigami that never wanted to work for anyone, especially for Quicy, that is the sole enemy and rival of the Shinigami. Thus, even though Aizen had the same motives as the Quincy King, the former decided to help Ichigo instead of siding with the latter.
Aizen’s pride has been shown in the Bleach series over the course of the manga and anime. Both of them showcased one single thing about the character, and that is his narcissism. The infamous antagonist had all the reason to believe himself superior as he had deemed himself the strongest of them all and outwitted every single one of them for decades.
His plan to overthrow the soul society was initiated when he decided that he wasn’t, infact, going to work for someone, even amongst the Shinigami, for a king. While it ended in his downfall, Aizen was prepared for it and was glad to have his ultimate final Zangetsu form to stand on his equal.
Ichigo’s Bankai was able to literally ONESHOT kill a Soul King Yhwach, until he used the Almighty to resurrect himself. Ichigo was able to do this twice with the help of Aizen and Uryu. We don’t know the full extent of Ichigo’s Bankai, but it’s definitely Planetary+ with the 10x pic.twitter.com/yRNbxcV4Ga

While Aizen’s pride in not working for someone may be a reason for Yhwach’s defeat, the author had probably overseen the fact that Ichigo alone would never be able to defeat the ultimate antagonist. Thus, Aizen’s help in this battle would come as a blessing in disguise to save the day for Soul Society. Knowing Aizen’s character, what would you deem as the reason for his help in defeating the Quincy King? We sure would love to learn your theories about them in the comments below.
