Dora the Explorer had to be one of the best-animated children’s television series we watched as children. People were always curious to know who the voice behind the articles used by Dora. The Backpack is a principal element in the animated series, and Dora doesn’t go anywhere without it. She is accompanied by her talking backpack and Boots, her monkey companion. Each episode centers around Dora going on an adventure and a series of cyclical events that occur along her way.
She and Boots face several obstacles, puzzles, and riddles they have to solve to reach their destination. Dora often encounters Swiper, a masked fox who Dora has to prevent from stealing others’ treasured items.
To prevent Swiper from stealing, Dora uses the line “Swiper No swiping” On the rare occasions, Swiper is successful in stealing the desired thing, Dora and Boots have to locate the stolen item, and the viewers get asked questions to make it appear like they are helping Dora in her quest.
The series’ antagonist is Grumpy Old Troll, who resides beneath the bridge, that Dora has to cross often to reach her destination. This Troll often presents Dora with a riddle she needs to solve before gaining access to her way. She asks the viewers for help in solving the riddle. It gives immense joy to children to appear to help their favorite cartoon character.
The show premiered from 2000 to 2019 on Nickelodeon. The series led to the making of a film titled Dora and The Lost City of Gold. The voice of Backpack was high-pitched and full of enthusiasm, and people often suspected it to be the voice of women.

Voice Behind Dora’s Backpack
The rucksack is a gift Dora received from her parent in the finale episode of Season 1. The rucksack is a magical satchel that can speak. It is purple and acts as a special companion to Dora in times of need. It has large white eyes and burgundy color on the inside. Every time Dora is stuck and needs help, Backpack comes to her rescue.
The little purple rucksack has a lot of space and seems to have everything that Dora might need on her adventures. Every time Dora needs help from Backpack, she asks the viewers to say “backpack” three times. This leads to Backpack opening itself with the introductory song “Anything You Might Need, I’ve Got Inside Me.” Once the Backpack opens, it produces everything that it thinks will help Dora in continuing her quest.
The segment where Dora asks the viewers to help to choose the correct item for her help is Backpack Segment. After an item gets selected, Backpack sucks the remaining items by using the term “Yum Yum Yum.” The Backpack can converse in English and Spanish.
The Map lives in the side pocket of the Backpack. The appearance of Backpack changed in the live-action film with unnecessary details. In the movie, the Backpack loses its ability to talk except in the scenes where Dora hallucinates it.
The voice for Bagpack in Dora’s series from 2000-2007 and the live-action film given by Sasha Torro, Alexandria Suraze, followed Sasha’s exit as the voice of Bagpack from 2008-2013. Sofia Lopez continued as the voice of Backpack after Suraze’s exit in 2013. She gave the voice to the character from 2013 to 2019, when the series finally ended.
Sasha Toro
Sasha Toro, originally Sasha Marie Torro, is an American actress born in 1990, known for being an actress and voiceover artist. She has provided her voice for Law and Order: Special Victims and Miracle’s Boy, except for her voice for Backpack. She enjoys a net worth of $1M and is married to her husband, Juan.
The couple has a child together. She is one of the few American actresses who has achieved immense popularity and fame in one role. The actress hasn’t completed her education. Sasha dropped out after high school and entered the World of art. Initially, Sasha struggled, and her high-pitched animated voice helped her land the role of Bagpack’s voice. Sasha is best known for her voice as Backpack.
Alexandria Suraze
Alexandria Suraze is the voice behind Bagpack’s voice from 2008-2013. Suraze is a child actress born in Englewood on June 16, 2000. Suraze rose to fame from her snit as Bagpack’s voice. Suraze started working at the tender age of six months when she booked her first job in Tyneol’s advertisement. Alex received Young Artist Award in 2012.
Suraze proudly walked the orange carpet. Alex has worked in independent films such as Thanks Dad, A TropFest, etc. The child artist has achieved the name and fame at a young age that many dreams of.
Sofia Lopez
Sofia Lopez is a voice artist who gave her voice to Backpack in the Dora series. There is not much information accessible about the actress except her work in Dora. She appears to be a private person. Her only other known work was in the 2018 series New Amsterdam.
When Did The Last Episode Of The Series Release
The animated series ended with its finale episode premiering on August 9, 2019, where Dora, Emma, and Kate Gus The Bus in taking all the musical instruments for children to a Music School. The last season to premiere for the show was its 8th season. The kids had to bid farewell to their favorite cartoon.
