Renowned German ballet dancer Friedemann Vogel has been making a name for himself as he currently works with the Stuttgart Ballet as the principal dancer. His impressive display on stage has earned him the national title Kammertänzer, which is known as the highest honor in Germany that can be given to a dancer. Vogel was also awarded the “Prix Maya” for “Outstanding Dancer” in 2016.
The popular Ballet dancer has explained how every role is a test, as he believes that every role requires one to draw on something specific inside the artist and eventually develop that. The artist also pointed out how it has been a real challenge for him to find empathy in such a cruel, rather psychologically destructive humor to portray the character with conviction.
Who Is Friedemann Vogel’s Partner?
While not much is known about Friedemann Vogel’s partner, the popular ballet dancer often teams up with Alicia Amatriain, his longtime dance partner and fellow Stuttgart Ballet étoile. The two started dancing together at the John Cranko Schule when they were 14 years old!
While talking about familiar dancing partners, Vogel has admitted that it feels great to dance with partners he knows and that the chemistry needs to be there, and one will need a few rehearsals! The baller star added that this doesn’t mean one has to constantly dance with them.
He is not quite on board with the rule of partner of choice as he believes there are so many amazing dancers!

Friedemann Vogel Looks Back At His Career And More!
In an early interview, Vogel stated how, during the first season, he started with Ballanchine’s Theme and Variations. Although he had originally been in the fifth cast, there would be other dancers with injuries, meaning Vogel would soon be put up on stage.
The artist admitted that he used to be fearless, as he believed that if he had to do it now in one week, he would freak out as when one is young, it is just so green, and one goes with it.
Friedemann had admitted that the older he became, the more he was able to trust his body to cope with such demands, contrary to when, earlier in his career, he sustained an injury that had kept him away from the stage for more than a year. During this period, Vogel understood that nothing could fulfill him as much as dance.
Friedemann also revealed how he enjoys abstract works but rather finds a story ballet more fulfilling as he says how a live performance is also always a one-time-only experience, which is why, when asked if it is not boring to dance the same role fifty times, Vogel would say that every time was a different journey.
How Did Friedemann Vogel Get Into Ballet?
When asked how he found his love for ballet, Friedemann Vogel revealed that for as long as he can remember, he had always wanted to dance while adding that when one is three years old, one doesn’t know or care and that it is highly unusual for young boys who aspire to be a dancer.
Vogel recalled how his older brother was already a professional ballet dancer when he was little, so it seemed like the most natural thing for him. Vogel admitted that he doesn’t get too stressed out by performing as he thinks different artists cope differently. He prefers not to go to the theatre too early and get tired before the show starts.
