Caroline Seager from Sweden is the best European soccer player ever. She played more games than anyone else, beating the records of German Birgit Prinz and her friend from Sweden, Therese Sjogland.
Caroline Seager is now part of FC Rosengard and the Swedish women’s national team at Damaravenkan. She leads both teams as their captain.
Seager, who plays in the middle of the field, has played in four FIFA World Cups and four UEFA European Women’s Championships. She’s about to participate in her fourth Olympics with the national team.
As a professional, the midfielder played for the Philadelphia Independence and Western New York Flash in the United States. He also played for Olympique Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in France.
As her football days come to an end, she worries about what her future holds. For her, it would be a waste not to use her experience and the knowledge that she has in soccer.

Seger was once a lesbian, telling QX magazine in December 2013 that, of course, she was proud of her girlfriend. In past years, Seger had kept secret her orientation but chose to speak out to be a role model for others. She used to be in a relationship with fellow professional football player Malin Levenstad.

Caroline Seger National Team Career
Seger made her debut as a player in the Swedish national team in March 2005 in a match against Germany during the Algarve Cup. She participated in UEFA Women’s Euro 2005 in North West England, where Sweden lost to Norway in the semi-finals.
In July 2008, despite a thigh injury, Seger participated in the Olympic Games in Beijing. However, Sweden lost to Germany in the quarter-finals 2-0. After several experienced players withdrew from the national team, Seger was given a prominent role.
Seger took over as team captain from Victoria Sandell Svensson and led Sweden to a third-place finish at the 2011 World Cup. Despite losing to Japan in the semi-finals, Sweden secured third place by defeating France 2-1.
After Lotta Schelin’s retirement, Seger became the sole captain of the national team. She led Sweden to the 2019 World Cup in France and played her 200th match for Sweden in a 2–1 win against England, securing third place in the tournament.

Caroline Seger Club Team Career
Seger began her club career with Linköpings FC in 2005 and stayed with the team until 2009. During her time in Linköpings, Seger played as a hard-working central midfielder and also served as the team’s captain.
Linköpings consistently finished in the top four of the Damallsvenskan during Seger’s five seasons with the team. They won the Swedish Cup three times during this period.
After impressing in Linköpings, Seger moved to the United States to play for the Philadelphia Independence in the Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS). She signed a three-year contract with Philadelphia in December 2009. Despite a strong first season, the team lost to FC Gold Pride at the time of the WPS Championship.
After one season in Philadelphia, Seger switched clubs to the Western New York Flash, where she helped the team secure the top league finish and win the Championship game.
When Seger returned to Sweden in 2011, she joined LdB FC Malmö and later Tyresö FF, where she won the Damallsvenskan in 2012. After financial problems at Tyresö, Seger moved to Paris Saint-Germain in June 2014.
Victory went to Olympique Lyon in 2016, where she played a crucial role in Lyon’s Division 1 Feminine, Coupe de France Feminine, and UEFA Women’s Champions League victories.
Seger returned to Sweden in 2017 and joined FC Rosengård in the Damallsvenskan. She helped Rosengård to win the Swedish Women’s Cup and to finish second in the league.
