Amy meets up with Ben after leaving New York without saying goodbye, but she soon realizes that they are better off as friends.
He eventually moves on from Amy and Adrain and chooses to publish a successful book about his experiences with Amy and the others. He keeps on writing while pursuing a degree in literature. Ben and Amy attend the same university at the end of the series. Thus, on the anniversary of their deaths, Ben pays a visit to the graves of his mother and daughter every year.
