Mad Gate is a fairly new manhwa catering to the Action, Supernatural, Thriller, and Fantasy genres. Our protagonist, Eon, has always yearned to be an adventurer, venturing into dangerous dungeons and embarking on thrilling quests.
Throughout his life, he has been envious of others. Their triumphs have left him feeling that he was never good enough. He feels the desperation rising inside him to become someone valuable and escape the gaping void in his heart. It is here the story starts. The story of the Mad Gate begins with a touch of madness; great!
Since the start of Eon’s life, he has been tormented by the Four Monsters. However, these Monsters are not a sight for terror for the guardians and protectors of humanity- The Adventurers. Our protagonist- Eon, has always envied these high-octane heroes and heroines.
He is stupefied by the immense and insurmountable powers and their dauntless visage, and he ponders and pines to become like them. How could he be one of them? His dreams are fulfilled when he is accepted as an assistant to the famed Level-3 warrior Tor.
A moment he dreamt of is now a reality. Their adventures take a vile turn on one fateful quest to conquer the Mad Gate dungeon. They sadly fall prey to the evil maneuvers of a lunatic diety. Will they be able to salvage their situation? Or will this be the end of them? The Mad Gate is a tale of victors and the vanquished, set in a world unlike ours.
The Mad Gate is imbued with camaraderie and betrayal. And Eon has a path paved with hindrances and peril to navigate. What falls his way, his success, failures, loss, and grief are all costs he has to bear for following his one and only dream.
