The story begins with Sheikh Muhammed bin Zaida bani Tiham getting obsessed with salmon fishing and later on believing that bringing this sport to the desert will improve the lives of the common man. He instructs his representative to turn this impossible thing into a reality without putting in any expenses.
The entry of Britain’s leading fisheries expert, Dr. Alfred “Fred” Jones, happens here. He at first believed that the idea was impractical and unachievable. But, the tables turned when the prime Minister’s press secretary called it an action of kind-heartedness. The primary roles of Alfred “Fred” Jones are played by Ewan McGregor, Harriet Chetwode-Talbot was seen to be played by Emily Blunt, Sheikh Muhammed bin Zaidi bani Tihama’s character was disguised by Amr Waked, and Kristin Scott Thomas played Patricia Maxwell. The major shooting of the movie took place in London, Scotland, and Morocco. The scenes which showed Yemen were actually shot in Moroccan Atlas Mountains.
