The 2023 comedy-drama No Hard Feelings, starring Jennifer Lawrence is a funny movie that is quite different from your regular stories. Although the movie didn’t work well and gained a lot of mixed reviews – mainly for its “sexual” premise – Jennifer still manages to shine through, proving why she is one of the best actresses. This movie might be seen as a funny story if one tries to overlook some of its shortcomings.
Initially scheduled to be released on 16th June, No Hard Feelings released on 23 June 2023 in the USA. Later, the film was also released on digital forms on 15th August 2023, making it available for streaming worldwide. The run time of this comedy film is around one hour and forty-three minutes.
After its initial release in the theatres, No Hard Feelings can now be streamed on Netflix, ZEE5, and Amazon Prime Video. This film was made with a budget of $45 million and earned $87.1 million at the box office which is pretty decent for a film of this genre. No Hard Feelings Plot
Maddie Barker is a 32-year-old who’s gone broke. As an Uber driver and a bartender, Maddie is supposed to have a normal life but she doesn’t own a car and is also facing bankruptcy. When she stumbles upon an unusual Craigslist posting, she finds it absurd but applies anyway for the job.
The only thing her job requires her to do is date Percy Becker, a 19-year-old boy who likes to hide in his shell. She must help him come out of this shell before he starts college and in return, she will receive a Buick Regal, a car that could solve Maddie’s problem.
Percy’s parents and Maddie strike a deal behind his back and it’s a done deal. However, as absurd as it sounds, this simple task comes with its own set of problems, mainly Percy himself. He is a shy guy who likes to spend time alone, doing his things and doesn’t understand most of the trends. Unlike a regular guy, Percy is unaffected even when Maddie tries her best to seduce him.
The duo try to “date” but with Percy’s stiff personality, how long will their “relationship” work before Maddie gives up on him?
No Hard Feelings Filming Locations
The crew began filming No Hard Feelings in late September in several Nassau County locations, in the NYC metropolitan area. The shooting went on for a couple of months and ended the following November. The main locations where the shooting took place were Hempstead, Point Lookout, Lawrence, and Uniondale. One of the scenes where Maddie and Percy first meet is shot at the North Shore Animal League, Port Washington.
Ted’s fishing station was located in Point Lookout, but it was made to look like Montauk Dock East in No Hard Feelings. In the film, a lot of water bodies, beaches, and even some beautiful greenery scenes are shown which sets the tone of this raunchy comedy film.
Maddie’s and Percy’s date scene was filmed in front of the Montauk Point Lighthouse. Later, in the film, Maddie also meets Sara at a restaurant which was filmed at Gosman’s Dock in Montauk.
