A supernatural series following the reappearance of a bunch of people, all thought to be dead by their families, that has a total of four seasons and close to sixty episodes to binge. Sounds like the perfect show for a weekend marathon. The series titled Manifest is an American mystery series with some supernatural aspects sprinkled all over it. The show aired its first season back in 2018, and it is currently airing its fourth season, with the first episode released on June 2nd, 2023.
The show is about how a flight called the Montego Air Flight 828, running from Jamaica to New York City, happens to go through turbulence, which seemed all normal at the moment. But it is only when the passengers on board get off the plane that they are told that their plane is a little over five years late in reaching its final stop.
They are told that they were thought and confirmed to be dead or lost forever, as a few planes have in the past, and that their coming back alive after five years is a shock for everybody. The show follows the story of the crew members as they try to get used to their new reality and the fact that they just casually skipped five years of their lives. Not only do they find their family and friends all changed, but they also realize that the people on board have developed an ability to predict future events.
The show stars Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Luna Blaise, Parveen Kaur, Matt Long, and many others as its main cast. The show has been well received for the most part, with many appreciating the casting choices and the way the story has been told with so much depth and layers. Manifest Season 1 Filming Locations
New York
The entire series has used several parts of New York City, including Brooklyn and Manhattan. Places like the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, which was named the Edward Koch School of Medicine, and the Columbus Circle can be easily spotted in the first episode of the series. While these filming locations are located in Manhattan, other parts of the show were also shot in a place called Williamsburg in Brooklyn.
Some of the characters in the series were found close to 81-14-218th Street or, as the show called it, the Stone House and the Queensbridge Park located in New York City. An important scene in the show is when plane 828 finally reaches its destination, New York and the passengers get out of the plane, shocking everyone.
This scene was actually shot at the Stewart International Airport located in Newburgh, close to Hudson Valley, New York, where lucky fans managed to get a glimpse of the shoot taking place. The first season of Manifest had quite a few airport scenes, with a bunch of them actually being shot in the Long Island town of East Farmingdale at the Republic Airport.
Fans of the series managed to spot the show’s filming crew in other locations like Pearl River town, which is located in Rockland County, and Cranberry Lake Preserve near Westchester County, both places located close to New York City. It has to be noted that all these filming spots got featured in the first season of the show, and only a few of them got to reappear in the newer seasons.
Other popular locations spotted in the show are Hunter’s Point South Park which was in the show as the soccer field, and the Cleveland Street Station. Fans took to their social media to directly ask the makers of the series what locations they would be shooting in, to which one of the producers confirmed that part of the shooting would also take place in Queens, Astoria, to be more specific.
While the newer and more recent seasons of the series, Manifest, have added new locations, even going outside of Queens, the first season stuck to New York and the places around it as its filming spots.
