What Happened To Saul “Shorty” Sanchez On Fixer Upper? Fixer Upper was a TV show about home renovations. Married couple Chip and Joanna Gaines owned a renovation and home design business in Waco, Texas. The term fixer-upper represents a house that requires repair or renovation but isn’t in an unliveable condition. Such homes are generally brought by new owners and then repaired accordingly.
In the show, they detailed the renovation and designs they did for their customers. Saul “Shorty” Sanchez worked for the couple and appeared in the reality show with them. Fixer Upper’s pilot episode came in 2013, but the first season came out in 2014. It became popular among the people over a very short period and benefitted plenty of people by bringing business to the Gaines and tourists to the city.
The show ended on April 3, 2018, after five seasons and eighty episodes. Shorty won many hearts during his five years with the show. After the show ended, he also disappeared. The show was the only way for fans to keep up with his work. Therefore here we are with an update on what he is up to these days and more about his time with the Gaines.
What Happened To Saul “Shorty” Sanchez On Fixer Upper?
Shorty worked for Chip long before the show started. After Fixer Upper ended, Shorty used his popularity and started a new business construction company called “Shorty’s Remodeling.” He officially started the company somewhere around October 2018. On October 21, 2018, he replied to a comment about his new company with “Yes sr. Shorty’s Remodeling!”
On October 31, 2018, he also posted about the #CHIPSTARTER fund of $10,000 that the Gaines family gave Shorty to help his new business. Besides this, there are only a few updates regarding his company, so it is difficult to tell how it is doing now. According to sources, he provides all kinds of services – kitchen and bathroom remolding, home accessibility modification services, additions stonework, paint, floor install, tile install, window installation, fencing & more.
He provides his work updates on his Facebook page but rarely posts anything on his Instagram or Twitter. The last post on his Instagram was on August 24, 2021. After leaving Fixer Upper, he appeared once on the successor Fixer Upper: Welcome Home. At first, fans felt fortunate, thinking he returned to be a part of the coming episodes.
However, they clarified later that he wasn’t a part of Chip’s crew anymore. And because they were and are great friends, he helps Chip when needed, which is what he did in that episode.
Saul “Shorty” Sanchez’s Personal Life?
As stated in a post from Shorty’s Instagram account, he met Chip when he was just 16 and Chip was 26. They have been together ever since, and in Chip’s eyes, he is more than just a worker, Shorty is a brother and a friend. And it was Chip who gave him the famous nickname “Shorty.”
Fans believed that Shorty had cut ties with the Gaines since after the show ended, he rarely provided any updates about the family and their business on his Twitter or Instagram account. Chip once replied to a fan’s message in 2018, saying Shorty’s living the best life, depicting they were still connected. And Shorty’s appearance on Fixer Upper: Welcome Home cleared all doubts.
Shorty is married, or at least was married as of May 26, 2020, when he built a six-foot-tall clock for his wife. The couple has a daughter, and though there’s no update if they are still together, we hope they are. He recently posted a picture with a baby wearing a T-Shirt titled “Shorter Shorty,” we don’t know if it’s his second child or a picture from before.
All the updates we have on Shorty’s life are based on his social media, on which he is rarely active. So telling what he is up to these days is extremely difficult, and fans need answers. Therefore we will keep on it and update you as soon as something new comes up. Meanwhile, enjoy watching similar shows till a new update arrives on Fixer Upper: Welcome Home.
