What Happened To Abigail on When Calls The Heart?
Fans were in for a surprise when Abigail went missing from the popular show When Calls The Heart. However, Abigail’s departure from the show was later addressed as Elizabeth revealed in a voiceover that Abigail and her son Cody had to go back to East to take care of her ailing mother.
While the actress appeared on the Hallmark Channel series since its first season and was also the only actor from the original TV movie, who reprised her role for the television show.
However, it has been speculated that Lori Loughlin’s involvement in the college admissions scandal might have made Hallmark make a few changes. In the When Hope Calls Christmas special, Abigail visited the town of Brookfield and celebrated Christmas with Lillian (Morgan Kohan), who runs the New Hope Orphanage. Even co-star Erin Krakow has called Lori her forever friend and said that she would love to see her back in Hope Valley sooner than later.

Who Played Abigail In When Calls the Heart?
Lori Loughlin played the role of Abigail in When Calls the Heart. While the actress has been associated with the show from its first season itself, her take on the show was cut short after her name was embroiled in a college admission scandal.
Lori later admitted that she thought she was acting out of love for her children, but in reality, she had only undermined and diminished her daughters’ abilities and accomplishments.
While the network did cut ties with the actress after the scandal gained huge media attention, fans have been taking to social media to convince the makers to bring Abigail back. The series co-creator has also opened up about the idea.
Will Lori Loughlin Return?
Hallmark Channel later issued a statement saying that the network has not cast Lori Loughlin in any current projects and they do not have any plans to cast the actress in the future. Lori Loughlin, however, later reprised her role as Abby in the spin-off When Hope Calls back in 2021. However, Lori’s return to the original show might not be happening anytime soon.
The co-creator of When Calls the Heart, Brian Bird, has stated that he would surely welcome Abigail back to Hope Valley in the future. He further revealed how fans have been asking about Abigail’s character and teased how fans believe that Hope Valley should be an example of forgiveness and grace.
Brian stated that as Lori’s friend, he could not agree more and explained that Hope Valley will always be a place of second chances and that having a heart of forgiveness in the real world does not mean that justice can be ignored.
