Wednesday Adams arrived and it’s safe to say that the show has definitely made an impact. Jumping straight to number 1 in the Netflix charts overtaking the likes of 1899 and The Crown, this show certainly meant business and has succeeded in capturing the audience’s attention.
With the first season finishing the way that it did with the cliffhanger surrounding the photos that were being sent, it certainly seems as though Wednesday Season 2 could be really interesting. So with that, I thought I’d take a look at when Wednesday Season 2 will be released, all that was out there, and give my theories and predictions as to what I think could happen next.
Wednesday Season 2 Story
The end of season one saw the main story and all of the overarching ones conclude. This meant that we saw the connection between Joseph Crackstone and Wednesday discovered and him being destroyed. We saw the identity of Hyde and his master being revealed, with Miss Thornhill being undercover. And we also saw Gomez and Morticia Adams being spared for the crime that was committed 3 decades ago.
However, in the closing moments of the season, we saw that once Wednesday had received the phone as a gift from Xavier, we saw her leave to go home, but as she did, she received a text message with photos of herself and Xavier moments before leaving, and also a photo of herself and Tyler inside of the coffee shop.
This means that somebody is definitely out there to get Wednesday, but we don’t know who it could be at this moment. It’s a difficult one to guess, as one would imagine that it would have to be a student at the school due to a photo being taken at Nevermore Academy. At first, you’d think it could be Bianca due to the rocky start that they got off to, but they made friends and both contributed to saving the day. So that’s a straight one that can be ruled out.
On another side of the argument, you could also argue that it could be the Sheriff. He had his son taken away from him and Wednesday despite not being the person who turned him into the Hyde, his father could blame Wednesday for getting wrapped up in all of the trouble that was occurring when they started being around each other more. So that one is a little more plausible.
Bianca’s Family As The Main Villain
Another story arc that we could possibly see could be centered around Bianca, her mother, and her fellow sirens who utilized their powers for the wrong reasons. We heard that Bianca got into Nevermore by using her siren-luring abilities and making them do as she pleased, granting her replacement as a student.
The morning songs are a group of people that have been tricked into being part of the cult and it’s run by Bianca’s mother. We don’t know how dangerous the group is at this point, but they could well go on to become the main villain in Wednesday Season 2. We will talk more about this further in the article.
Tyler And Xavier
With regard to Tyler, I feel there is a chance that he could potentially be involved in the story again. However, if he is, I feel there’ll be more of an arc of redemption. He didn’t want to do what he did. He was being controlled by Miss Thornhill, AKA Laurel. So with him escaping the police van right at the end, he may want to go back to Wednesday and try to redeem all that he’d done.
I imagine we’re also going to see Xavier being Wednesday’s new love interest as they seem to grow closer by the end of the season, so I feel their chemistry will definitely grow stronger.
I’d like to see a little more of the family involvement as you see in the Addams family movie. But with it being mainly focused on Wednesday, I don’t think that will be the case. There’s a lot .ore of the world to explore within Jericho and Nevermore. So we’ll have to see what’s going to be coming next.
Wednesday Season 2 Release Date
Wednesday Season 2 was announced by Netflix earlier this year. But in terms of Wednesday Season 2 Release Date, that’s something that’s currently unknown. There could be a delay in the release of the Second Season due to the Writer’s Strike.
Considering the fact that season 1 came out on 23 November 2023, the script for the second season might already be ready for filming. So we can rest assured that there won’t be any delay due to the writer’s strike.
However, with it jumping straight to #1 on the ranking charts, I think it’s safe to assume that Netflix will surely be prioritizing the production of this show so that they can release the second Season of Wednesday quickly.
If that is the case, I would predict it to come around the same time of year, but next year, to allow time for the filming, post-production, and marketing. So this would mean a release in early 2024.
Wednesday Season 2 Cast
In terms of the characters, with there being no major deaths at the end of the season, other than Principal Weems and Joseph Crackstone, I would say that it’s probably safe to assume that all major characters will likely be returning.
So that would mean we’d see Wednesday Enid, Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Bianca, Xavier, Ajax, and Uncle Fester. I feel we could also see Tyler make a return as we saw him breaking free. So he won’t be under the control of his master, Laurel, his character could either go one of two ways.
Tyler could either become more human in the sense that he won’t turn into the hide anymore and will see himself as Tyler again. Or he may be even worse due to the fact that there’s nobody in control of him anymore. This could also mean that his father, the Sheriff, may also return.
Villains In Wednesday Season 2
In season one of Wednesday, we had a few different villains appearing on screen. We had Tyler as the Hyde, which was the arc that was focused on mystery. We had Miss Thornhill in disguises as Laurel Gates, who was the puppeteer of Tyler, and we also had Joseph Crackstone, who was an ancestor of Laurel Gates and shared a similar view of wanting to wipe out all of the outcasts in Jericho.
So season two of the show has a lot to live up to in providing good villains for us to watch and see Wednesday hopefully defeat. There are so many different options for villains when it comes to season 2 of Wednesday.
Bianca’s Parents
One character that we were introduced to in the first season of the show was Gabrielle, Bianco’s mother. We saw that she had a bit of a troubled relationship with her daughter Bianca and that there was a sense of manipulation that was involved in their encounter.
We found out that Bianca and her mother used their siren abilities in order to get Bianca into Nevermore Academy. So we know that there is already a lot at stake for Bianca as she’s a good valued student. But her place was built upon somebody giving it to her whilst under her control. So I feel we could see this information come out, especially with Gabriel threatening to expose the secret if she didn’t return with her.
Bianca’s mother spoke of a cult-like group that she was a part of, and her husband and Bianca’s stepfather, Gideon, was the leader of. It disguises itself as a self-help program, when in reality that’s not the case. They’re just in it to make as much money as they possibly can whilst not caring about the well-being of the users.
With Gabrielle threatening Bianca at one point in the show, we could see her parents become two people that become villains in the new season, as we saw that they do seem to have that trait within them. We know that Bianca’s mother is a siren and she has powers and abilities. Such as making people do as she pleases, underwater breathing, and the ability to change the lower half of her body to be like a mermaid.
With more and more people adopting the morning song program within the town of Jericho, we could see their powers maybe going through the program, which would ultimately mean that more and more people could become part of the morning cult where they could go on to have a bad influence on a large number of people.
I feel we could also find out about Bianca’s biological father. Maybe he’s out there somewhere. Or maybe Bianca and Gideon were behind something sinister, but I think both of these characters will be involved in some capacity in an evil way in the new Season. Unfortunately, for now, that’s all that’s known about season 2 of the show.
