Parallel World Pharmacy’s story goes as follows: Kanji Yakutani, a well-known medical researcher, dedicated his life to developing new treatments after losing his younger sister to an unknown disease. He discovers that he has been resurrected in a medieval setting as Falma, a member of the family of illustrious De Medici. He quickly learns about the dreadful state of psychiatry on this planet, where only the wealthy can afford the treatment that is ineffective and harmful at best. He is gifted with the ability to detect ailments instantaneously and the mythological divine skills of synthesis and reduction. By using contemporary expertise and his divine talents, Falma gradually establishes himself as a pharmacist despite his youth. He even wins the approval of the imperial court.
