Will there be a Venom 3? This was a major question that all of us had after the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. So, today we’re poised to answer that question. Is your favorite anti-hero played by Tom Hardy returning for yet another adventure? Or is the project tabled for another time? Well, as it turns out, Sony Pictures dropped a major bomb just yesterday at the Caesar’s Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It was announced during the CinemaCon 2022 that several projects for Sony Pictures are in the works. From a superhero movie starring Viola Davis, a Whitney Houston biopic, a war movie for awards season. And yes! A third Venom movie was confirmed! Now, without any further ado, let’s take a look at the details.

Will There Be a Venom 3?

The answer is yes! Sony Pictures confirmed during CinemaCon 2022 on Monday, April 25, 2022, that there will be a Venom 3. As stated earlier, it was at Caesar’s Palace Colosseum where CEO Tom Rothman spearheaded the Sony Pictures directive with the presidents of domestic and international releases —Steven O’Dell and Adrian Smith, respectively.

Sony Pictures did great teaming up with Marvel Studios with the last Spidey movie —Spider-Man: No Way Home, which raked in $1.8 billion at the box office—set a really high bar for the company. And they’re poised to keep bringing out good titles to entertain the public. Now that covid’s out of the way, people are going back to normal. So are the theatres. In consequence, all efforts are around making great entertaining films.

When Is Venom 3 Coming?

After Spider-Man’s great success at the box office, it’s logical for the company to take a shot at another character from Spidey’s universe. In consequence, it’s Eddie Brock’s turn —played by Tom Hardy, who already has two Venom movies to his credit— to take charge of the center stage.

After Venom’s debut film’s initial success in 2018, Sony greenlit Venom’s sequel “Let There Be Carnage”. And despite the delays caused by the COVID pandemic, the movie did very well at the box office, raking in more the US$ 500 million across the globe. It was in Let There Be Carnage’s story that the screenwriters are going to take it up to come up with the sequel. After all, if you saw No Way Home, you might’ve noticed that in the post-credits scene, Tom Hardy was there as Eddie Brock. As soon as we have an official date for the Venom 3 movie, we will post an update for you.

Venom Comes To The Marvel Cinematic Universe

After confirming that Venom 3 is a fact at CinemaCon 2022, we’ll have to see how Sony creates the Spider-Man Universe. To begin, Sony isn’t dropping any Marvel movies this year. Still, they’re going to drop Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse next year. And they’re also doing a movie with trap singer Bad Bunny called “El Muerto,” poised to drop in 2024.

There are only so few details about Venom 3. The rest is only hearsay. While the movie is in pre-production, a potential candidate for directing it could be the previous director Andy “Gollum” Serkis. We’ll have to see if he’s willing to take on that job or if he passes on it. Cast-wise. It’s obvious that we have Tom Hardy in the lead. Also, Michelle Williams played a key role in the other two movies.

Which Spider-Man Actor Is To Interact With Venom In Venom 3?
