Undead Unluck takes place in a world where people with special abilities called Negataors exist. They are called that because the baseline of all abilities is that they can negate something at will. In the case of our protagonists Fuuko Izumo and Andy, their abilities are unluck and undead respectively. If you come into contact with Fuuko she will negate your luck, meaning that person would fall prey to misfortune. In the case of Andy, he can negate death.
The ability is similar to that of Deadpool or Wolverine. He can regenerate at alarming speeds and can even control the rate at which he regenerates. He can regenerate lost limbs at speeds that would even put the Kibutsuji Muzan’s Uppermoons to shame. He is being pursued by The Anti-Unidentified Phenomena Control Organization AKA The Union.
They are a group of 10 very powerful Negators who hunt, capture, and kill other Negators and Unidentified Mysterious Animals or UMAs who pose a threat to Humanity. Under the guidance of Shen, a member of the Union Fuuko and Andy was able to kill two existing members of the Union and take their place to fix the Union from within.
The real goal of the Union is to effectively identify the person who is responsible for the UMAs and destroy them. A task that will prove easier said than done. As time goes by Shen takes Fuuko under her wing and trains her in Kung-Fu. We also come to find that the world as we know it resets from time to time and in the 101st Reset Fuuko Izumo becomes the leader of the Union.
Undead Unluck Manga Recap – What To Know Before Reading Chapter 163?
The Union successfully came back from its mission in Space and is currently at the Hong Kong International Airport awaiting its flight back home. But trouble was waiting for them at the Airport. A hooded figure attacks Fuuko and she defends. The mysterious person is revealed to be Shen’s younger sister, Mei She was testing Fuuko to see if she was competent.
Mei learns that Fuuko is more than capable so she pleads with her to help rescue her brother. The mention of Shen’s name was enough for Fuuko to drop all her other responsibilities. Mei explains how Shen is taking part in the Tenraisai, a once-a-decade martial arts competition to determine the strongest Martial Artist in the world. His reason for participating is to defeat Feng.
Feng Kow-Loon is the person who took Shen and Mei in when they were abandoned and a fellow Negator. He has the ability Unfade which prevents him from aging. Feng is the one who mentored Shen and Mei but the reason for doing so was for his own selfish needs. Mei knows Shen is not powerful enough to defeat Feng and that he will kill Shen if he tries.
Fuuko joins the tournament and easily gains the upper hand against most others who were participating. Thinking she was cheating some of the participants unsheathed their weapons. This led to Feng intervening and challenging Fuuko to a duel. A brief fight erupts between Feng and Fuuko. Feng was once defeated by Fuuko in the past so he wants to settle it.
But when the other contestants intervened Feng had no choice but to back off and let the tournament continue as scheduled. Feng asks Fuuko to last till the end so that they can have a final bout to determine who is the strongest. However, Fuuko tells Feng that his opponent is not her but Shen. She promises to elevate Shen to a level that can defeat Feng
