Even though “Twisted Metal” was renewed for Season 2 almost a year ago, Peacock has been slow to share updates about the new episodes.
However, there is now news about new actors joining the cast. Saylor Bell Curda (from “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”), Michael James Shaw (from “The Walking Dead”), and Lisa Gilroy (from “Interior Chinatown”) are all coming on board as recurring stars. The release date for the new season has not been announced yet.
This announcement shows fans that the show is making progress, and we might see some previews later this year or early in 2025. Based on the end of Season 1, the new season will likely focus more on the original game’s elements. This includes the Twisted Metal tournament where characters like Sweet Tooth (played by Joe Seanoa) and other drivers battle until only one remains.
Who Else is in ‘Twisted Metal’ Season 2?
Curda, Shaw, and Gilroy will join Anthony Carrigan, who was announced earlier as Calypso. The new season will also feature Richard de Klerk (from “A Teenage Prophet”), Patty Guggenheim (from “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”), and Tiana Okoye (from “Mrs. Davis”).
Returning cast members include Anthony Mackie (from “Captain America: Brave New World”) as John Doe and Stephanie Beatriz (from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) as Quiet.
Saylor Bell Curda is known for “High School Musical” and has appeared in “Walker” and guest-starred in “Mom,” “Station 19,” “New Girl,” and “The Thundermans.” Michael James Shaw played Corvus Glaive in recent Avengers movies and was on “Limitless.” Lisa Gilroy was recently seen in “Unstable” and “Glamorous.”
“Twisted Metal” is based on a well-known video game series that started in the early 2000s. To capture the game’s unique style, Peacock has brought in Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (known for “Zombieland”) and Michael Jonathan Smith (known for “Cobra Kai”) to develop the series.
If the new season builds on what was shown in Season 1, viewers can look forward to some thrilling action in the new episodes. Peacock has not yet shared more details about “Twisted Metal” Season 2, including additional cast members, a trailer, or the release date.
